Engaged.... to 4_degree. One of these days we'll actually get married - if we can stop buying cels long enough to afford it. :P We have one furry child (a rabbit) and one slimy child (an overly large goldfish that's almost as old as me!). Kids? Not anytime soon... :P

Heh....

Single, went through almost all the stages of "panic" that I can think of.

The, "You're 100% Japanese and need to find a Japanese wife to keep the family name going."

Then, "You're still single... need to get married and have kids to keep the family name going."

Onto, "You're still single... and we're hoping you're not gay so we can have grandkids."

Past, "Um, one of these days we'll see you have a girlfriend right?"

Given up on, "Yeah, family not bothering to set you up on dates at all."

Recently moved from, "I MUST GET MARRIED AND HAVE BABIES!!! GETTING TOO OLD!!!" panic state.

Now in the, "Eh, why stress it? I have more money for computers, games, anime, manga, toys, and cels."

=P Yep, think that covered all the stresses in my life.

I've also managed to stay off the questions of why I'm not married with the answer, "Don't know, do you?"

Happily married for 12 years now. Some how I managed to get my wife interested in anime as well.

Two children, one 7 and the other 3 years old, and I managed to get the older daughter interested in anime. The younger one likes anything the older one is watching

LOL @ Yoshito!!!
Love all those stages!!!

Wish I had known that response back when I was barraged with that question too! X| :P

Now, if I can just come up with a smart-assed answer as to why I don't have any kids.... :hurt:
(I usually go with "my husband's my only child")

Answer them, "We already have one, just not here yet." Then walk away before the puzzled look fades.

I'm not married either... But if ever said that.

I'd be afraid someone would go off with a speech on why I'm not married.

Personally... I just tell people that I'm too ugly, so no one likes me.

No one so far has noded in agreement... ^_^

Ahhh... How cute!!! :cat Image

But then they'll think I'm pregnant, and I wouldn't want that! 8O :P

Single and thoroughly enjoying having my own place and not having to answer to anyone else for the first time.

The funny thing about being older (I'll be turning 29 very soon--oh, the horror! :P) and still single is the range of comments you get. It goes from "Oh, you're soooo lucky! I wish I had done that before I got married" to "What's wrong with you? If there's 'something' you want to tell me, I'll understand."

I think marriage is great, but only with the right person at the right time. Until then, I'll happily wait and enjoy my single life in my new bachelor pad! Oh, and I think single women should start calling themselves bachelors too. This "spinster" or "old maid" crap has got to go. :x

I love this list, my parents went through that stage about my older Brother who's 34 now. It's worst for me because I'm female and 28. I think my Mother will have a heart attack if I reach 30 without getting married. I guess I'll have to make sure that the hospital bed is ready for her on my birthday in 2 years :P

You said it! Spinster.....I don't mind it if someone called me that right now, but if I was 40 and not married, I think I would seriously punch someone if they really did call me that to my face *most likely my brother*. Though I would prefer to be called a Bachelorette

Sooo, what did your brother do? Did he give into pressure and get married? =P

I've always thought it was Bachelorette... >.< Could be worse, as in having an annoying little clone calling you an "Obaasan". =P

Yoshito, are you the oldest or the only male son in your family?

Yep, he gave in. He went with my parents to Thailand or China or Cambodia (as you can tell, I didn't get all the details but since we're Thai, Cambodian & Chinese....I'm assuming it has to be one of those places lol) and found a suitable mate. I heard that her family has wonderful lineage and blah, blah, blah....so as long as he's met and likes her, I'm happy for him.

I, on the other hand, would like to choose my own mate. If I screw it up, I only have myself to blame. Of course my family would disown me, but that's the choices we make. Since my boyfriend is driving me crazy right now, I might just be in the singles category soon. If that happens, before Christmas, I am so going on a Cruise and bringing me home a Cabana boy from the first island we land on :)
