Aaargh .. I'm going to have to avoid this thread at all costs. I'm sooo curious.

ps : Season 1 Ep 1 was aired here yesterday... aren't we up to speed ? :x

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

EEEEEK! What a tragedy! I didn't find out about the show until after the first-run eps, then a friend told me about it. Now I'm hooked hooked hooked. Just took a trip out to Kansas City and wore my Lost t-shirt. Call me perverted ... the only person who mentioned anything was a ticket scanner as I was boarding the plane. She said she loved it and her husband thought she was nuts! Wonder why? :crackup

He was favorite Doctor, though Eccelston (and I believe Tennant) will [probably] run neck and neck with him. No one could do slightly mad like Tom Baker!

SPOILER ALERT!

Okay - we all knew there was something or someone down the rabbit hole. Anyone care to speculate on exactly who this Desmond is and how he got to be on the island?

Is anyone else disappointed in that we didn't see anything about the raft people? I guess considering the name of the episode (Man of Science, Man of Faith), it would be Jack/Locke-centric.

Shellie, if you want to see "mad," you oughta've seen this guy! ("oughta've" - wow - that's awkward!)

OK ladies and gents, fill me in. I have no clue what this show is about but given your evident excitement I WANT to know! :-)

And count me in on the Tom Baker applause :-) Somewhere in the guts of the house is the Dr. Who Fan Club card I got in the wayback. Different lifetime, it seems like. He was without question the best, even though the others all had their strong points.

Woohooo! Baakay's in the Dr. Who club! I knew there had to be a few more closet Dr. Who fans out there! :) I don't have the official card, but I did attend an official Dr. Who Convention, complete with traveling display consisting of original Dalek, Cybeman, and different Doctor's costumes... even one of Tom's 20ft. scarves! It was when they were introducing the "new" Doctor: Sylvester McCoy. (Ugh. That was about 18 or 19 years ago now! X| ) I even got to meet Tegan. (She's a tiny thing! I thought she just looked tiny because Peter Davison was so tall.)

And back to the original intent of dbzmomma's post (poor thing! I think I hijacked it somewhere along the way! sorry!!), I was curious about Lost myself... is it a reality show, or is it just a weekly series kind of show?

weekly series, bout a plane crash on a mysterious island with strange things happening, and everyone is connected wheather they know it or not.

-on the reality front, last night the people i was watching it with took a vote and we voted off invasion (the new show after lost) for a second new episode of lost, but the network had immunity and overuled us.

yeah, no raft people, maybe next week.

as for the preview for next week lets hope the statement "the fate of all suvivors will be revealed next week" was just a cheap gimmick to get us to come back (like they had to add that in), or they just reveal that the island has a madness disease that they all contracted and the path of the virus. (hence more of a possible fate of all the surviors)

When was this exactly?

HAHA! Maybe C l o u d's the source of all the whispering on the island!

Lost is a series - I didn't start watching it until reruns this summer because a friend of mine turned me on to it. I had orginally thought, "Pfffft! Gilligan's Island," but, noOOooo. There's so much going on that it's impossible to tell you in one short post.

For instance, the numbers will play a huge part this year. Hurley's numbers were on the hatch. They were also on the bottle that Desmond got his injection from. Desmond typed those numbers into the computer before hitting "execute." And the writers have said the numbers are really significant.

If you really want to get hooked, got to http://www.lost-forum.com Some smart guy has figured it out, I think. Here's the link to that thread: http://www.lost-forum.com./showthread.php?t=14177

If you want to hear what the writers and the actors have to say, go to http://www.thefuselage.com Terry O'Quinn (Locke), Jorge Garcia (Hurley) and Javi (one of the writers) WILL answer questions from time to time. It's cool!

SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERYep, indy, next week's eppy is entitled "Adrift." I imagine that would be the raft people! I understand that they have a close encounter of the dorsal fin kind!

Episode 3 is supposed to be a critical episode. I think we meet the survivors of the tail section. Rose said her husband wasn't dead. Also, Michele Rodriguez (Ana Lucia who was talking to Jack at the bar before the flight) will be a regular, and she's supposed to be a love interest. That might throw Kate into Sawyer's arms. *sigh*
END SPOILER

Now, as for the good Doctor ... I can't WAIT until The Christmas Invasion! I am SO going to download that Dec. 26!!!
