The #1 thing you need to do is move out. Much of what you learn in college is NOT from the classroom. .
You got that right, bud.

My undergrad school was only about 20 miles from my house, but I moved into a dorm. With all its associated "stuff" (including a roommate who blamed me for the fact that she got an std the first semester :puzzled and decided I caught mono to take attention away from her. Whee!).

In spite of the fact that I spent lots of weekends at home that first year I never regretted spending the $$ on the dorm (and, one year, sharing an apartment off-campus). Soda's 100% right about everything he said.

Sorry to hear that you didn't continue art (I did too my freshman year! it was all about concepts and lines formations, I ended up replacing it with anthropology, which I aced).

one of the best way to make friends is to hang out at the Student Union (a.k.a. Rec Room...I assume all colleges have one). I made a lot of friends playing pool and bowling. But the best way is really making friends in your class (yes, siting next to the cutest person helps pass the time. I notice I worked harder because I didn't want to look dumb :P ).

College was a blast, I specailly loved my freshman and sophmore year. Get all you G.E. classes done first, so that even if you change your major, you didn't waste your time taking a class for a major you are no longer pursueing (one of my friends changed majors 3 times in 2 years and ended up wasting 10-12 credits 8O ). I tape recorded all my classes because even if I fell asleep, I had the info. Review your notes after class, because sometimes what you wrote may be confusing.

Always show up the day before a midterm or final (you wouldn't believe how many don't ) because professors always at least tell you one thing that will be on the test  .

Have fun and don't get too drunk where you wake up with a tatoo on your butt (happened to one of my girlfriends who belonged in a sorority lol).

Hugs and warm thoughts are with you. I wish I was still in college, some of my best memories happened then :D

Like a party....with a $12,000 dollar cover fee X| Seriously it was fun, save for the dorm thing. I never did like sharing one room with a single person, makes for a frustrating situation even if you like who you're living with

Why not?

It depends on what the meaning of the word "it" is.

:rollin
My freshman roommate was a MESS! Her landfill of..stuff..crept and got bigger and bigger throughout the year. Lived with her again senior year - same thing. The only thing keeping the pile from totally taking up the floor was her trying to be considerate of me. :l It wouldn't have been so bad had she known where things were in it, but she didn't. Dorm living doesn't always makes you more organized, believe me.

Oh, and sit next to the cute girls just so when you have group work, you can work with them. It really does work! :D

Good luck with the rest of the semester!

*goes to reminisce*
