Gone for a bit
Gone for a bit
Gone to visit the family on the other side of the country. Doubtful that I'll be
online much before next Wed or Thurs. Please harass Baakay and keep her
self-esteem low while I'm gone.

I will tell my botmaster you said I am away too Poor Baakay.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Oh Phear not.
I get to go to work next week. That will supply me with all of the denigration, abuse, and neglect I could possibly want.
What I get from Kymaera is merely the icing upon the cake. I'll just be suffering advanced sweet tooth by the time he gets back

Unfortunately, that only works in moderationKyoshito wrote: That's what the delete button is for.

Anyways, for those who are curious, a brief telling of my recent travels...
I flew into Alabama to visit my family. Unfortunately, due to Rita, Houston
was closed and I ended up having to go through Newark which made a
really LONG day on Friday...especially when they have you waiting on
the runway for nearly two hours because they loaded people without
having the plane refueled, a flight plan registered or the weight properly
balanced.
Saturday, I went with my sister and parents up to Gatlinburg, TN to the
Smoky Mountains. We'd rented a small log cabin up there for the
weekend. We went down and walked around town. The main highlights
were going to the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum and the sky lift over
town. We finished the day off with cooking out hamburgers at the cabin.
Sunday, we went back down into town and hit the Aquarium which was
really interesting. It's set up so that you travel on a conveyer belt type
system through tunnels in the tanks, so you get to see all the fish from
all sides...my favorites were the sharks, rays and the giant sea turtle.
After an afternoon nap, we went to see a Chinese acrobat show which
was a big hit with my family. I didn't think that they were as good as
the ones that I saw in Shanghai last year, but any chance to see cute
Asian women contorting themselves...

Monday, we checked out of the cabin and headed to Kade's Cove which
has a nice scenic trail that you can travel around. There were also hiking
trails, but we were too lazy to walk them (plus it was beginning to rain
a bit). My sister was hoping to see a bear, but was disappointed not to.
However, we did see deer, squirrels and other critters. Then, we headed
back to Alabama. Made it back without any incident such as anyone
killing my mom for being frigging annoying all the time.
Tuesday, my sister and I travelled to Atlanta, Ga and had lunch with one
of my best friends from college. Hadn't seen her in over a year, so was
good to be able to visit. Her daughter's a little over a year old now, so
was my first time seeing her in person. Cute as hell..nearly as cute as
Baakay's spawn. After that, my sister HAD to go visit the Ikea store, so
I spent two hours walking with her through it. Wasn't that interesting to
me, but was worth it to get her to do the driving.
Wednesday, pretty much all I had time to do was get up, get ready,
head towards the airport (~2 hour drive), grab lunch and hop on the
plane. Luckily, both the flights were smooth and actually arrived early.
Though, that was a mixed blessing as my ride was late due to an accident
on the freeway and well, being a dumbass and not allocating enough
time for rush hour traffic.
