That Numb Feeling...

Do you guys get that numb feeling after you realize you've missed out on that ultra-wishlist cel you've always wanted ever since you were a wee newbie to the hobby?

*Sigh* It doesn't really matter which cel being talked about, it's more about how long before that little feeling of loss goes away. For me, I can usually shake it in about 1-2 hours - but for "the" wishlist cel, maybe 1-2 days....maybe.

Having experienced this feeling on several occasions, I voted for an eternity of despair...

lol And now... another wishlist cel of mine is on YJ and I wonder how much work I will get done the day it ends if I lose - I'll probably be like this all day:

Hopefully I won't be reminded of the pain of a loss that day

I voted for the day. I will mope all day over losing a cel. Then I go to bed and wake up the next morning to find a new cel taunting me making me forget how badly I wanted the first cel. And the cycle starts again.

I don't have any ultimate wishlist cels that I could possibly afford at the moment, but I often fall in love with something on auction and mope for a while after losing. So, if I had the means and one appeared, I can see myself moping for up to a week--and blowing all the money on less-desired cels.

when my ultimate dream cel popped up on Mandy all I could do was watch until it ended at 2.5k

I still have yet to get over it completely 100% but I think I musta moped about it for weeks

I guess I've set my sights really low, cause I haven't missed out on any of my dream cels. If my last Gundam dream cel ever showed up, I'd have to pry open the warchests and take it down. Sorry to hear about this, transmet. I hope it turns up for you again soon.

I need something inbetween one week and burns with a seething fit of despair for eternity. If it's truly an ULTIMATE wishlist cel or sketch, I'll regret it for longer than a week. Especially so if it's the only cel or sketch in a sequence.

However, rounding up is a trend, and seething fits of despair creates interesting imagery.

I was going to vote for "all eternity", but after thinking it over I realized that my ultimate wishlist cel is not the same cel that I wanted when I started collecting (or even several years into it). After four years of collecting, my ultimate wishlist cel switched. So there's no way I can truthfully say "all eternity."

But yeah it hurts real bad. I've been annoyed for a couple years at not being able to win/get certain cels. And these weren't even top wishlist cels. So I'd choose a "Two to Four Years" option if there was one.

I chose a week. There have been very few cels that have caused serious numb feelings for me, as most auctions are usually just want-list stuff. Usually it's because an auction goes way out of control (ie. My budget

) Now the situations that REALLY bug me are when:

a) I forget to bid >_<
b) I try to bid but a freaky server issue prevents me

c) I get sniped

d) Missing dealer updates
e) Missing personal sales

and most gut-wrenching
f) Sending an order for a cel and getting the reject letter

But alas, them's the breaks. It all comes with the territory, so I've just gotta be satisfied with what I have and get ^_^

just kidding. But seriously, you never get over some of them. Especially the A1 End cels that will *never* appear again. It's that much worse knowing that you'll never even get to nab a sequence mate, since there aren't any!

I recently picked up an Escaflowne wishlist cel of mine...so I'm happy for the moment and that should last for a long long time!!

As for loosing them...lets just say I'm gutted for a good day or so...but there's plenty more fish in the sea... *cough* ...or that's what I make myself believe!

dont know havent had this feeling yet. but to answer your question on how i might feel if it did happen, maybe a half a day or a whole day. dont know.
