For me, it's usually from a day to a week lol! XD I'm still grovelling about a wishlist from 3 days ago /wah But yeah, that numb feeling just isn't easy to recover from.. and during that numb time... when someone annoys you, it's oh so difficult to try to resist screaming and running around like a headless chicken.

Heh...it's comforting to know that I'm not alone when it comes to the anguish of missing out on those little jems. Thank you all for the kind words of support - they do help. :friends:

And just in case your at all curious, this is the current bane of my cel-hobby existence. Granted, not to everyone's taste - but I think most can appreciate it at some level. Oh well.

Btw, if anyone here did snag it, my heartiest congratulations to you :flipa ...I mean :bow2:.

Heh, I was looking at that cel too (it wasn't me that bought it though), great scene! It has actually been up on his page a few days now (even before he updated his news section).

Some of those Big O cels are just fantastic - the RD, the first shot of Dorothy coming out of the car, Roger getting out of his car during one of the early scenes... definitely one of the best Big O updates ever. Even though I saw the update early, I am kicking myself now for not going for the RD.

But like many others have said, there are always more fish in the pond. That is one of the best things about cel collecting - the anticipation for the next sweet cel.

It's a cross between 1 week and longer, depending on what the item meant to me. On some things I've felt bad for a day, others have been longer- especailly if I made the error of forgetting to bid- I can't forgive myself easily.

There was one genga I really wanted on Ebay and I decided to bid in the last minutes. This was in about 2002 when I had a dial-up connection. As I was ready to bid my connection cut and I lost out to a single bidder who got the item at opening price for about $20 and I was willing to pay 5x that. I'll never forget it and still keep in touch with the winner who said that if he planned to part with it, he'd let me know. *phew*
To this day it's still one of the images I have ingrained in my head and can't shake it, it's more vivid than any piece of artwork I can see in front of me.

Hope the pain subsides soon Transmet, just look out for another wishlist and keep your hopes up!

But at the end of the day, RalphVBoy sums it up well:

So far I haven't encountered that ultimate wishlist cel, but I'll come back to this thread when it happens.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Alas, I would love to claim that I snagged that, but no. I didn't catch the update till just now. That really is a gem shot in any Big O collection. Absolute grats to whoever snagged it.

I'm with Moop and Shampoo. I feel the pangs of loss and despair for a long time after losing an item I want. :l

In fact, just this morning I lost out on an auction for a very highly desired item after waiting 11 months for it to show up again. I am quite upset/depressed at the moment. :bawl :bawl :bawl

I have just recently learned the location of my ultimate whishlist cel............ it is a start at least. I never thought it would even be in this country. Now comes the years of subtle negotiations and outright begging. I always feel that unless the cel gets destroyed there is always hope that it will eventually make it to it's rightful owner. But really, I'm not obsessive, no not at all Bwahahahaha :crazy

I'd have to say that the feeling definitely takes longer than a week, but eventually I get over it. I think a few months would be about right. I have found a way to make me feel a little better when I lose out on something. I usually spend extravagantly on a cel I have been eying sometime but have been hesitating buying. I figure, I have saved myself from feeling twice as bad at possibly losing two cels! By the way, the most I ever spent on a cel was a rebound purchase. I bought my Miruru pan cel at a price far less than I thought it worth, but more than I ever spent on any cel. I can now barely even remember what I missed out on that made me buy it! (It was a TnN cel, but I don't remember what it looked like.) In that case at least, my strategy worked!

Awwww... *glomp hugs Moop* No reason for you to feel bad though! You've been more than supportive to me.... listening to me whine and whatnot. :sweatdrop

I'll just have to wait and hope that another one shows up. Even if it takes another 11 months... I'll be ready and waiting.

And I do appreciate the plushie assault! Go teeny Hieis and Sasukes! :friends:

Hmm.. now... where'd my dog go to?? >_>

I have picked up too many cel on the second time around to worry too much about losing one. I am not collecting any of the hot new shows, so there are a lot of people deciding to drop old series now :D

I too rounded up to eternity. Never thought that would be the case (since I have the attention span of a mayfly :emb), but I find that I'm still mourning a few major wishlisters that slipped through my fingers nearly three years ago.

Still, a quick flip through my current collection takes the sting away nicely.

For a while... :nuts

On a positive note, for those who DO find wishlist cels for there collection, it's a mixture of the most joyous and contented feelings in the world. They say a picture speaks a thousand words- the one word it repeats is 'Excellence'... That's not ALL my cels say to me, but I'm leaving that for the mental institute's report later :hitting:

Maybe this can help you focus on your other wishlist items Transmet! They're out there, you just have to rescue them.
