Seeking Dragon Quest: Abel Yuusha

Post by Sugarflower »

For the love of God! If anyone happens to have the first episode of this anime please PM me. I've been searching high and low and can not find it anywhere. :l I did notice it was seeded at one time for bittorrent but it's not now. I want to eventually get screencaps for my cels but this is probably hopeless since this anime is so rare.

I have it, but its thousands of miles away from where Im at.

You can always buy...
You can find a set of the original VHS that was released on YJ from time to time. Theres one crazy seller asking $250 for the 5 VHS set.
Considering they were selling for $120 retail, guess its a deal. If youre in no hurry, Id wait till they release in DVD form. A lot of the 80s and 90s anime are being relased as DVD Boxes.

Thank you RX! :)

I didn't even know that it was available for purchase on YJ. Heck, I didn't even know that it had been put on vhs at one time. That auction is so crazy, what a price the seller is asking for those tapes!!!
I found someone on ebay selling low quality boots of the english dubbed (1-13 ep.) and chinese subbed (complete) versions of the series. The auctions usually go for $50.00 to $100.00 a set but I would rather not spend my money on those. I hope the japanese companies hurry, I just cant wait to get it on dvd!

By chance have you heard anything at all about its release to DVD?

There's no real news on the release of the series, but, there is a petition out there for its DVD release.

Theres a big DQ fanbase in JP. With that fanbase in their 20s, 30s, 40s...with money, Im guessing theyd release it in the next few years.
Bootleg is incomplete.

Beet The Vandel Buster is airing in jp, and he originally did Dragon Quest, Dai no Daibouken...so maybe it might spark newer audience back into DQ....and see a quicker release?

I've been watching the fansubbed of Beet the Vandel Buster. I like it due to the fact that it sorta reminds me of DQ. Thanks for the info, I've gotta keep my fingers and toes crossed at this point and hope things work out for the DVD release. :D
