CG or Non-CG?
Do you guys prefer computer generated anime or regular hand painted anime?
Well, i dont know which one i like. So im undecided.
EDIT: for example say if they continued your favorite series....would you want it to be cg or non-cg.....just look at it like that i guess.

Only the story is important. Everything else comes in in a very close second place.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

I have multiple answers to this question!
(1) I love to collect cels, so I want *all* shows to be cel-made!
(2) CG looks cleaner/brighter, so I enjoy watching it.
(3) I find that animators tend to be lazier with CG shows, so some times they are not as nice. Also, shows like Gankutsuou give me a headache, because the animators use too many fill colors (something they'd never do if they had to hand-paint it all!)

We were talking about this in the RS chat last week, well myself, RX, and Backlot. I prefer Non-CG. It seems like they take their time with those shows and they quality is higher IMO. CG shows feel rushed and it seems like they go for quantity and not quality, like they quickly write scripts to keep up with the animation production. Not to say all CG animes are garbage-Naruto and Bleach are exceptions from what I've seen so far (53 eps and 3 eps) but really I don't like to keep up with all the new anime as most of it does seem rushed.
Don't touch me, but I need a hug.

Yep. I would prefer non-CG, for all the reasons stated thus far: more time spent on it, seems less rushed (except ranma third season for one example), and most importantly: I want CELS!!!
I like the CG for all the reasons stated thus far: Brighter, cleaner colors, and the animation is nicer - less jumpy.
I voted Non-CG, but I'll take my bish any way I can get them!
(paper or plastic, just come home with meeee!)

I think it's because both productions are from one of my absolute favorite studios, Studio Pierrot! Pierrot has an animation school, and I think that they keep the best graduates. I have noticed that since cg is around, generally fight sequences seem to be more fully animated , instead of the the series of stills more common with cels. There are cel series fights that are more animated (Bebop) and I'm sure that there are less animated cg fight scenes , but it seems that making more images to actually illustrate a fight scene is more affordable now, so it is more common to see all the action! Not to say all CG animes are garbage-Naruto and Bleach are exceptions from what I've seen so far (53 eps and 3 eps) but really I don't like to keep up with all the new anime as most of it does seem rushed.

The traditional painted medium remains my fave.
The effects in CG anime are, on the whole, not good enough in every instance to make them appear realistic and therefore superior.
With cel-based animation, it's great to get a feeling of action, the sense of movement based on a brush stroke and I can appreciate these effects more for their artistic interpretation even through thay may appear less realistic.
CGI anime is great for a non-cel appearance which can't be easily produced with paint, but most shows still imitate traditional cel style and appearance, which I think is a waste of time. Surely CGI is only used to save time and money- aside from the miniscule visual benefits like smoother movements and transitions, it has no other purpose.
