Which cel is yours?

Post by aernath »

So, when I expire of bliss in Ichigo's arms, I want to make sure my cels go to the right homes. Because you know whoever deals with my stuff then won't know the difference between a Ranma and a Ranmaru. (Not that I have any Ranmaru...yet.)

My first thought was getting some of those little sticky dots and labelling each cel (actually the bag the cel is in, of course). But then I thought about Roy's advice on paper and cels not mixing well.
So then I thought about just using a sharpie on the bag. But then thought about "If you think paper has fumes, you've smelled a sharpie!".

So... how the heck to I identify each cel and it's future owner for some uninformed person to deal with later on?

Um... I'm done thinking now, my second love is on: Hockey!!!! :D

I was wondering the same thing and came up with this idea...I photograph each cel and write the info on the back of the photo. I've told my son so he knows who, what and where they are to go whenever the time comes.....

hope that's the first of many ideas for you :D

The photo-solution seems to be a very good one.
A extensive description of the cel is also a good idea but nothing works better than a visual reference.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

There have been days where I swear I'm going to be buried with certain cels.. LOL. But, that aside - I haven't put much thought into how to let others know what should be done with my cels... the photo solution sounds like a great idea.

I have unfortunately put much more work into thinking about my cels' eventual resting spot than is probably healthy, but it goes with realizing you're half-past life and ought to at least have a contingency plan.

There are certain cels that are destined for certain fellow collectors. Others will go to the Spouzal Unit (tm) and kiddos. After that... I'm a little vague. :P

(and before he beats me to it, yes, Kymaera, I'm always a little vague. Be nice or you don't get Bloodberry and Jin).

And now it's off to see what that suspicious-looking teaser in Aernath's sig is... (THAT's not ICHIGO!!) 8O

Well, since my kid collects with me, and she actually owns some of them outright ( like that great Sango and Kirara! She's also getting that new OP genga set from Reload! She owns some of the best stuff in the gallery!) the plan is that they are all hers. Thus, another additional choice on the poll should be "raise an heir".

btw, this is why none of our stuff is ever on sale, as we have an agreement that anything that goes must be agreed on by both of us, and we almost never both agree to part with anything.

Oh, and she is thinking about joining Beta now that she is about to turn 12, so watch out!

I haven't thought about the future of my cels, the here and now is sometimes too much to deal with. There are a few that people have contacted me about and that I've made promises on, but the bulk of my collection is unspoken for and as far as my husband and kids go they don't know it's worth.

I suspect when I depart this world there will be one helluva garage sale. :P Maybe if I start now I'll have some sort of catalogue to guide them....

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... That is a hard problem.....
I really did not think about it.....

I guess if I die earlier than my hubby I ganna leave them to him (since he loves my Kenshin cel collection :) )

If not, then I will leave them to my cats ;) (ok kidding kidding....)

If you hear that I've croaked, start checking ebay... I'm sure that's where my husband will throw them all. :)

Cels may fall out of the bags over time, just use sharpie on the back of the cel where the paint is :D

I told my dad if something happens to me, just give the cels/sketches to my anime friend and have him deal with it. :D

I've never really thought about this before. I'm still kinda young and immature :emb /swt to know much about what I'd do, but I guess if something did happen, I have a scrapbook. it has pictures, it has writing about all of my friends in real life and online. If something happens, my family knows to check in that book and then to make a decision from there as to what goes to who. I know one person a lot of the things will go to, as the person lives fairly closeby and also likes anime and cels etc and is one of the bestest friends I have. ^_^ I already have some cels and sketches down for certain people online (my betarian buddies!! *huggles*) so no worries. ^_^ The scrapbook pretty much takes care of the rest as to who likes what series, etc
I like the photo idea too, might just do that someday! /ok

Im my case all that is taken care of via our will as to which kid gets what.

I think my online gallery will have to serve for cel identification purposes. I assume my sister who likes anime would be the one who would take all the cels. I don't know which she would keep and which she would sell, but I guess at that point it wouldn't matter to me anymore. :sweatdrop

Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.
