I like the photo idea! But you could also label the pictures on a website or on a computer file (and I'm pretty sure if you mention the pictures/website/file in your will it can be incorporated by reference
)
Most of my cels are going to one person, with a few more going to another and that's listed in my will

Well, since "raise an heir" (hee hee heir raising) is out of the question, I'm thinking a combination of the picture/computer file thing is the way I'll go. I can burn the pics to CD complete with instructions... I think.
Yes! HOCKEY!!!
I finally got to watch a Coyotes game, and THEY WON!!!!!
It's good to see Gretzky smile.
Thanks everyone for the comments!!!

This is something that I've always thought about and has still left me unsure. Unfortunately my husband is not into anime and doesn't have very much of a clue regarding the care (or value) of anime cels.
::has a heart attack invisioning husband selling AMG and X cels at a garage cel for $.12 a piece::
Being that my collection is getting up there in price, I guess this is something I need to make a decision about, heh.
I really like the idea of documenting the information of the cels including photographs.
But I'm curious though, how many collectors actually "will" their cels to other collectors? Does anyone here on Beta have an "agreement" say, with another Beta member, regarding the future standing of their cels?
(might need to make an heir.. and then force them to love anime

I have thought of this before but haven't done anything about it. I'll probably will some cels to friends and have the rest put on ebay. I already gave instructions to my boyfriend about how to ID each cel via my website since I do have all of my collection online. Thankfully he knows how valueable some of my cels are and won't just give them to good will.
I did thought about giving them all to a cel collector friend to deal with instead, but I wouldn't want to wish all that hassel on somebody after I perish, so I thought ebay would be the best way to go. As for making my bf do all the work, it's the least he can do in my memory.

At my age, I think it's way too depressing to think about what happens after this life. Besides, I plan on living forever.

Seriously, I have no idea what would happen to them--my sis is the only one serious enough about anime to actually take care of them, but she's pretty worthless when it comes to online stuff.

I've put a lot of thought into this already, especially recently having to deal with deaths and wills. My family and friends are all aware I collect cels and have an online gallery. Even though my mom doesn't understand it, she still likes to visit my gallery. I have made it very clear to them where to find my passwords if anything should happen to me.
Rubberslug has made it even easier for me since I have the characters and shows already laid out. In the private comments section, I have listed who gets the cel if I have someone in mind. (ex. = Mom wants) In other cases, I have listed who to contact first to sell to. (ex. = ask Baylor first) Also, I attempt to fill in how much the cel cost me for future selling reference. Currently, my best friend is in charge of selling everything and sharing the money with my brother. She is an active ebayer and a beta member.
And people wonder why I'm stingy about handing out my gallery password.

Well I'm going to have to agree with the picture idea...with the pictures being labeled with stickers or something maybe in accordance with a legal will so that no one can try to tell the intended recipients that they are not entitled to the cels in any way. ^.^ Must always consider the legal ramifications...it is sad.
I think that my husband (to be) will most likely keep my cels in my memory...I think. He knows they are most precious to me...hehehe...my precious...
