Norton Antivirus Liveupdate Question

Post by Elfstalker »

Help! :l

I got a queue to update my Liveupdates, so I did.

But, when I look at my System Status window, it shows that I still need to update my Liveupdates. I've clicked on 'Run Liveupdates' maybe 15 times now, and my system is still not up to date. I even get the message that my computer has the latest live updates definitions installed. Any clues as to why I'm still considered not up to date ? This was last night, and my computer has been shut down and started back up today. :(

The date of the last update was Oct. 26th, but I've been getting the new updates since then. :l

With my luck, I'll probably catch some nasty virus. X|

Sounds like it's probably just a simple glitch - or something didn't work right with the LiveUpdate process (bad download or something like that). Have you checked the support area of the Norton site for help? You might also want to go to their site & download the latest updates and install them manually just this once.

Thanks for the advice.

By some miracle, my status suddenly went ok. :) I think it heard you and decided to behave. :D

LOL! Well, that's good to hear. Norton has been known to be glitchy.. I used to have similar problems with it myself.

Sometimes you have to restart for the updates to be effective. I've gotten viruses in my email that I downloaded during the same period as the antivirus updates for the same viruses were loading and installing. They weren't identified as such until the next time I booted up my computer.
