Just curious. Have a few questions, but no need to post em if people dont even know what a yantra is.

It sounds like something my dad does. He does chants, hand motions (like you see in anime), meditations, incense and stuff. His latest thing is blowing into those Australian aborigine instruments that make that strange noise. It's a long tube and he got it in the mail last week. :^^:

Keropi, it's a didgeridoo, which is kinda spooky, cause I orderd one for my bro for xmas, and it came last week as well!

A Yantra is a pattern. So far, from my research, it seems to only be used in the hindu relgion and none of the others. Though it is used by other people for various things, such as yoga etc. But religiously, I dont think they are used by any others, besides maybe Buddhism.

I was just curious as to the various Yantras and their meanings, as their are deity specific etc ones. Ive seen em for sale mostly as imprints on small metal plates, and sometimes as pendents, and a few as posters. I have a poster one, called a Sri Yantra, which seems to be an all around, if not THE Yantra, though it is missnig four sides which are doors? I think. Here is an image of the poster I have. Sorry its kinda big

It is indeed beautiful. :^^:

The bad thing is (which tells you something about me), when I saw the image, I immediately thougt is was one of those digital sights you have in the cockpits of fighter jets.
When all the triangles come together, they turn red and you hear a beeping noise which means you have a lock and can fire the missiles.

Karma will bite me in the ass for Yantr-abuse. :x

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

The two triangles represent male and female . . . so when they come together . . . and you can fire . . . nevermind. :sweatdrop

For anyone who's curious, here's an article; I haven't read all of it myself, just the part about what the triangles represent.

Great. I think that happens quite often.

done some more research, pretty neat stuff in my opinion.

In_Gabriel_We_Trust, haha I wouldnt worry about it. I thought the same thing at first as well.

It is neat to stare it at though and just relax as different formations pop up.

Anyways, here are some more images. first, is a another sri yantra on copper. then a vaastu yantra on copper and then im not sure if its a yantra or not, but its the same artist who made that poster above. here is a link the site, as there are some other cool works.
