Going Away From Cel Collecting For Awhile

I've been a spoiled brat getting myself into debt with cels and haven't been myself for the longest time. I'm going to finish off what offers I've made as promised but after this I won't be purchasing anymore for a long while. Unless they're dream wishlist items. Wolfette PLEASE respond to my PM's I would like to send you a payment but I can't without info.

I also JUST told off my friend Kristen and am going to keep one cel as mine, the other I'll probably sell.

I withdrew all of my deposit from SMJ and have suspended my account on Ebay. The only way to bid on something would be through Celga and they require a half payment deposit so I'll be avoiding that as much as I can.

I will stop in Beta to check on updates and such but I plan to avoid the "For Sale" section so I apologize to those who may have things under there. I also apologize to anyone I might have offended or hurt... especially MP. So take care everyone and I wish you all the best! I forgot that I needed some backgrounds so I guess I'll have to stop into the For Sale section anyway. Hopefully I'll be strong enough.

Get your financial house back in order, Lina, and when you're sure you know what your limit is, and what you have to do to enforce it, then come back to the game. It's a wonderful hobby, but, like any pastime, a bad master. The nice (but enticing) thing is that it gives you so much fulfillment for relatively little cost ... but then "just a little more" can get you into debt just as much as BMV accessories and designer pot.

One piece of advice: keep the cels and sketches that you absolutely love, and look at them often during your break. Get to really know them, front and back, cel and sketch. Change their cel bags and clip the corners so they breathe. Show them to people. Really, really appreciate what you have.

And then, when you do come back, ask before you bid/offer: will I love this one just as much as the ones I already have?

That, more than anything else, will keep you out of the "bang of acquisition" addiction trap.

And know that you are doing the right thing, for you, right now.

Good luck Lina!!! I know what the "overspending" feeling is like.

Also, I'm glad that you were able to come to a decision about your friend. I guess in the end, she wasn't really worth it. Sigh. Don't worry about it hon. She made the decision, not you.

Thank-you all for your encouragements! Unfortunately as bad luck would have it, the family dog died last night and most of us are a wreck especially my mother. So I REALLY have to stick to this and I might even have to sell more items to cover for a new dog or something.

Thanks hyelakingsfan and WC for your support! I have to say a BIG thank-you to everyone for being so great about everything!

Things are much better at home now and are moving on. I just haven't had the energy to mention things in the RS Weblog yet. I still have to stay away from things for atleast a month or three until I have enough things paid off and money saved for cons/ car repairs.

I forgot that there are things I have to update my RS gallery with and I HAVE to get some backgrounds so I guess I can't completely stop collecting yet until I find those but they won't be expensive items. That I can handle.
