Oh to be rich...

Post by blueheaven »

They say money cannot buy happiness, but it could probably rent it for a few years. You notice that when you hear folks say that, they are usually folks with money? Anyway, I was browsing through the stuff that I could never afford on eBay and came across this closed auction.

Oh, how I'd love to have that on my wall to oggle for hours upon hours.

So I got to thinking, since it's the holidays and the giving season, let's talk about what we want for a change. If you had the funds to get anything you wanted, what would it be. Now, this is purely material stuff, and not world peace or selfless wishes(we're gonna be naughty just this once and think about ourselves). Tell me what THING you would get for yourself!

That seems like enough time.

I'd get a "Rally" car. A '67 Shelby Cobra GT500. Oh how I'd love to drive around in that. n.n

Something I'll never have in my lifetime but what I can always dream about. ^_^

Wow, that is one awesome drawing! I'd love to have an original Alex Ross. Thinking about original comic art (which is impossibly expensive for the casual collector), I'd like to get some of Jim Lee's incredible Batman or Superman art. Just look at this!

And as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like an original Spawn cover from Todd McFarlane... :D

Nice pieces Marauder - and great site. I'd forgotten about that one after losing my bookmarks when my last HD crashed. Thanks. 8)

Let's see, so much to ask for (since I was such a good boy this year ).....

I'd love to be able to afford any original art by Alex Ross. I've always enjoyed his and writer Steve Darnell's Uncle Sam. Great story -
powerful artwork (and, oh, to have the original of this Image).

I wouldn't mind having some more Darick Robertson art like this one, or even this one. I'd kill to get my hands on one of these bad boys
(just maybe the all-time best Punisher story).

Wouldn't mind having this piece by Matt Wagner...wow! :o

over $19,000 eh? That is a really great scene, definitely a piece to oogle.

Now the thing I want most...I can't narrow it down LOL. It would just have to be more Sailor Moon cels. Though I'd like to branch off and focus on other anime I'm interested in, but that probably won't happen for another half-year, when I actually start at a salaried position.

Or I could just wait for my fiance to hit the big bucks, retire early and have him buy all my cels...bwa hahahaha. ... I can wish. ;)

If money were no object and I could have ANYTHING I want, I'd choose the one thing I've wanted since I was about eight. LASER EYE SURGERY!!! Okay, I haven't wanted specifically laser eye surgery since I was eight (seeing as how it didn't exist then) but I've worn glasses since the second grade and I always used to say if I had only one wish it would be to have perfect 20/20 vision without glasses or contacts. :D

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

If I could have anything I wanted?

I'd buy a year off from work. Seriously. Just a year to putter around, exercise, go swimming and hiking and get my body back in shape, paint, do household projects, get the grass out of the stone border around the property, and so forth.

I could do that now if I wanted, but I'd have to take an unpaid leave of absence. What I want is a PAID year off.

ahhhhhh :)
