I rarely visit this thread but I had to say . . . WOW, AO! He's beautiful! Now, go find me a sequence mate.

Here is one from a fairly unknown show Figure 17

This is of the Figure (living battle suit) getting ready to blast an alien creature.

This is the 1st cel from this show I have seen up on YJ. The show itself is one of my favortites. It's episodes are 50 min long so they go into a lot more character development and sub plots than most animes.

Nice Dragonball images Akadro, I can imagine they cost a mint because they look awesome!
Tex, I don't know why you should dislike Dr Nii so much, he looks like a great character, heh. The good thing about the Saiyuki series is that I can ID the style quite easily, I think it's the way the mouths are drawn. Great stuff.

Joe, that Figure 17 cel doesn't look familiar so I'm sure you had a great find there, well done for spotting it. Always a bonus to have the background with it too- keep those eagle-eyes open for more

I broke my 3-week cel purchaing hiatus with this set of Guyver cels. Guyver was one of the first series I saw when it came out in the early 90's. It holds fond memories and I'm sure these are all OP cels- something I've been looking out for. Sho's transformation into the Guyver is an exciting moment, I'd love a matching pink/purple background and the circular globe effect layer that was seen on screen, heh.
Thought I'd post them here now because they won't be displayed in my gallery for over a year

Grrr . . . you know that's not what I meant.

Guess I'll just have to find that A1 and see if I can pry it out of someone's gallery.

Today, I ws fortunate to find a couple of classic VHD cels on YJ, the shots that were used for video cover images. One of them stuck out because it was an image that I used for reference in one of my first fancels I made when I was 14 ^__^ I'm glad to own the proper cel so I can hide away my laughable attempt! heh

Oh, Yay!! Krafty! I'm so glad to know where the D with the blue background went. I was watching it and said no... I can't do it, I don't have a VHD collection yet and I know others do. Now I'll come ogle him at your place instead!!

so you were the culprit who outbid me! actually i was probably in 3rd place with a bid on $450. great pick up...kenji looks awesome!

I was wondering who I was bidding against. This was one of those "must have" cels. I was prepared to go higher than I had to. It's such a wonderful image of Kenji.

Baakay, I'm happy to hear you will be visiting him.

edit: I didn't really it until I just looked in your gallery Baakay, but we are sequence mates with this one!!

~Thanks for the comments Nene and Baakay, so you wanna see the fancel Nene? heh, dont joke like that!

I had to go up into my loft to find my old sketchbooks that housed this 'cel', it'll promptly go back as well. It did bring back some memories as I recollected painting my fancels with the ready-mixed acrylic paints I used for painting miniatures/models.

This is the second VHD cel that was on offer today and I nabbed *hee hee*. I know it's not the best quality cel because of the line fading and I'm not 100% sure if a mouth layer is missing or not, but I remember this image from the promotional shots and I like D's 'ethnic-looking' cape which he doesn't sport in the latest movie.

I'm also proud to announce another addition to my Catgirl collective, Miruru from Tenshi Ni Narumon. It was thanks to collectors here like Vapalla and Sensei that made me aware of this series and of this perky neko girl.
I like her ears, which are very mouse-like and most of the cels I had seen of her up until now had them out of shot, or the composition wasn't right. There's also a glimpse of a sharp tooth in the corner of her mouth which was the deciding factor for me- that's SO cute.
This pose isn't puurrrfect but it's a start ^__^

Hey AO, that new Kenshin cel is beautiful, I can't help thinking that the way his eyes are painted look like Teddy-bear eyes. They're very warm and youthful.
