So..what did you get for Christmas?
Better to give than to receive, but let's show some appreciation for what we
got as well.
From my best friend and natural enemy Baakay, I got the cels and sketch
mentioned here.
She also gave me a "Magic of Incarnum" D&D book and an evil pencilboard.
From one of my best friends from my college days, I got DVD's (Nausicaa
and a volume of Gunslinger Girl) and graphic novels (Transmetropolitan and
Fables).
From a friend at work, I got a Trigun T-shirt.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

a couple of signed books, cloths, a kon plushie and a bottle of really tasty wine.
All great discoveries are made by mistake-the laws of murphy
Then the Dean repeated the mantra that has had such a marked effect on the progress of knowledge through the ages.
'Why don't we just mix up absolutely everything and see what happens?' he said.
And Ridcully responded with the traditional response. "It's got to be worth a try,' he said

I got some clothes (lots of jeans, which is good, since I keep getting holes in mine from riding everywhere on my bike), a few books, a digi cam and printer/scanner, and some DVDs.
Not forgetting, of course, the plushie and cels from kymaera and the glass ornament from Perv-chan. BTW, sorry kymaera, it turned out to be completely family safe. I know you had your hopes up and everything, too.

You want to know the truely sad thing? I had originaly thought that the printer was just a small photo printer. When I opened it up and found the scanner on top, my first thought was, "Alright! Now I can take this to college and scan my cels!" Sad.

As I posted in my blog, I got a pretty cute gift. After a day of last minute shopping, I came home Friday to find a cage in my kitchen. Inside was a running wheel, a shelter, some food and water, and a very confused lil hedgehog. Turns out my mom, who has a key to my place, got me an early gift. I named him Brillo P. Hedgehog. I'll have some pics when I get a camera. Also got the Firefly series on DVD as well as the movie Serenity. Got a professional poker chip set, and a book. All in all, a very rewarding holiday. Hope everyone else had fun.

I think I mentioned elsewhere that I've been mesmerized by this wonderful new monitor ALL day. Nothing like watching a fantastically gorgeous show like Juuni Kokki on it!!
Kymaera gave me five of the cutest little figures I've ever seen... Mahou Sensei Negima? is that right? Plus a Digi Charat I've coveted ever since he snagged one out from under my nose at AX, the fourth Hokage (I think that's right... the one who sealed 9-tails into Naruto) and a girl with a giant stuffed frog that I understand is from Read or Die. What a cute bunch. He also gave me a Full Metal Alchemist art book. Fabulous!
I think I also mentioned the "Calendar" from the Marshall Islands
Which is a lovely calendar, but had a Chad sketch tucked in behind it. Sneaky Aernath.
One of the funniest things of the day was that my husband and I each gave the other v.1 of Gankutsuo on DVD
I couldn't believe it.
gosh we overspent this year. What a bunch of do-dos.
As I told my dad, the advantage, for my kids, of having parents old enough to be their grandparents is that we've been working long enough to be able to REALLY spoil them rotten! And so we did.
One of the most enjoyable Christmases in years.

I'm not overly keen on receiving presents, I prefer to buy stuff for others but I did receive a few wonderful things from my Christmas list: DVDs (Brotherhood: Taegukgi, Ong Bak and Blazing Saddles 30th Anniversary Ed) and this Ikki Tousen figure I've had my eye on for a while.
It's one of the few anime anime girl figures I'll obtain (I know this can be an addictive hobby so I don't want to delve too far in, heh). She'll take pride of place in my study alongside the Alfrex figures, Mezzo DSA gashapon and Akira statue.
