I was wondering who I was bidding against. This was one of those "must have" cels. I was prepared to go higher than I had to. It's such a wonderful image of Kenji.

edit: I didn't really it until I just looked in your gallery Baakay, but we are sequence mates with this one!!

im only an occasional shopper, but thats the best image of kenji ive seen on the market to date. congrats!

I have been attempting to scale back my purchases a bit after a few expenses not planned (Daughter's car transmission) but found this Akane cel from Ranma 1/2 I could not pass up.

It is one of the joys of Ranma 1/2 that you can have cels of Akane in the ever changing forms. From Violent to comical and then ones like this showing her as a demure beauty. (who would think she could Ever be described as such, Talk about out of character!)

That is a WONDERFUL Akane cel! While watching, I was always compelled to reach through the screen, shake that woman, and say, "you know, he'd probably actually like you if you weren't such a wretched bully."

Seeing her look serene is a treat!

Ooooo, lovely! I'm not familiar with the show, but I'm a total goob for cels with lots of detail in them. Check out the little folds in her shirt... that's what really seperates anime from the dross we call western animation.

(By the way, I still covet your cel of Akane, Dr. Tofu, and the skeleton, heehee!)

My turn!

So, this cel first showed up on Yahoo Japan a year or so ago. It was quite overpriced, and I'll admit I had questions about its authenticity; onscreen, this scene had some digital effects, so it looked a wee bit different from the cel. Even after I'd worked out that yes, this was actually a real cel, I still couldn't justify paying the minimum bid of $300.

Months went by, and the cel was relisted and relisted and relisted (YJ is full of these long-term auctions, heh... some of them feel like old friends). Finally, about three months ago, I noticed that the minimum bid had dropped a bit. Two weeks later, it dropped again... and then again...... and then again............. At last, I logged in one morning to discover that the cel had been relisted with a very reasonable price and a Buy Now option. I couldn't resist.

When I opened the package this morning and saw this cel in person, though... wow. Let's just say that even if I had paid the original $300 asking price, I wouldn't be even a little bit disappointed right now. She is MAGNIFICENT. Happy me!
