The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Tell me a story.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Baayak! :crackup

Well since Cloud wanted a story, I'll tell you why that's so funny. Of course Yak is my name spelled backward. It also happened to be my first licence plate, back when vanity plates didn't cost an arm and leg.

Then we moved from Maine to New York, so I had to get new Yak plates. So I did.

Gnu Yak.

I am not making this up.

*****

That was the first story. Here's the next one:

I found out today that my horrible mug from the picture I put in the Album a little while ago is going to be -- of all things -- part of the banner of the new ASRM web site. ASRM is Applied Statistics and Research Methods. Stats. At which I suck quite royally, which is why I was doing the heh-heh-heh nervous laugh thing.

And well worth being nervous, as it turns out that my partner and I read our output wrong and said we found no significance when in fact it was HIGHLY significant. I'm standing in front of my poster explaining all of this in the picture.

I think that speaks VERY highly of the department, don't you? :rollin

HAHAHAHA!!!

Lord... after the meeting I just had I needed a good bellylaugh.

It was a good thing Colorado vanity plates cost so much. I was having a terrible time trying to come up with a gnu variation on the yak theme. :D

I don't think this was what Baakay meant when she said she needed a gnu nickname.
