oh I forget posting here ...

my first non-Zetsuai Cel, but for a good reasen ...

... because my big idol Minami Ozaki made a lot of Doujinshi befor starting Zetsuai and the most Doujinshi with Caracters from Captain Tsubasa ... that's why I began this little Side-Collection with Genzo Wakabayashi ...

btw: If anybody has any idea from which of the Captain Tsubasa Series it comes from, PLEASE tell me ... I'm looking for the original scene once more ...

Superb Kenshin cels, Carol! I can see why you love that Himura cel so much, it's beautiful. The composition, colouring, his piercing eyes... all spot on.

Great to see you found a wishlist item, Transmet. I've already visited your gallery to see the current Golgo 13 collection 'in action'

I agree that the image you have really sums up his character and the anime in general. The only other image I can think of is the upwards elevated shot of The Professional brandishing the rifle with his mack/shades on. It's an icon very reminicient of that era in action cinema/anime.

And you've also done very well, BMB! 2 high-quality cels in such a short space of time, good for you. Nice to read your descriptions too, these personalised notes are always interesting to read ^__^ Plus I like your wording- "Kosher", heh. I guess that means 'excellent'? It has a slightly different meaning in the UK- "bonafide/genuine"

Just added a couple of things tonight, so I thought I'd post about them in here ... since it's not really enough to warrant its own "update" thread ... LOL.

Anyhow, a cel of Shigure from Voltage Fighter Gowkaiser.

I was really pleased to run across this one on ebay, as VFG has become another of my cel collecting "guilty pleasures". Just can't get enough of Masami Obari's character designs.

And, in the original artwork section, a gorgeous print of D on horseback, by the superbly talented Crystal!

I have so much luvin' going on for this print. The detailing is amazing, especially when you consider this is a print (i.e., a copy) of the original. I can only imagine how mind-blowingly amazing the original must be. I've had this print for some time, but am just now getting around to scanning it b/c it is so HUGE! It took me 5 scans and about 3 hours of stitching work in Photoshop to get the image together ... so, hopefully, I didn't butcher it with my hack PS skills.

Thanks, Kraft-man! I consider that very high praise, indeed, from someone with such an incredible eye for Obari's work! *bows in gratitude* I had a bit of trouble picking a background for that one, since the super highlighting on his face and chest indicate he must be standing near a blast of light or big light source of some kind. I was just lucky he coordinated with the purple so well, although I still wish I could have gotten the shadowy FX to show up a bit more. Oh well ... win some, lose some.

And, thanks, too, for the vote of confidence on the D scan! I look at it and can see flaws ... but, then, I know they're there. It's nice to know the image looks OK to others, as I was really worried about it. Crystal did such an incredible job on that painting, and I was worried about doing it justice in the scan.
