Bunny Rescue SAD UPDATE ;_; (read first post)

03/02/06:
My treasured bunny Leo, who is the reason we started bunny rescue, we rescued him from being snake food in September 2003, came down with sudden onset pneumonia yesterday, March 1. We are very paranoid about bunny health, and he was fine when we checked him and played with him at 11pm on February 28. By 8am the next day, he looked odd so I took his temperature -- it was 106.5'F-- it's supposed to be 102'F. We rushed him to the vet, but he sadly died at about 12:15pm yesterday after having a seizure and they were unable to revive him. He was my heart bunny, both Casey and my pride and joy -- he was our child in many ways

We thought we would have 10 years or more with him, instead we only had two and a half years. We are devastated. He wasn't quite 3 years old yet. His bunny family, Amelia and Wesley, are very upset and we are watching them closely.

You may have met Leo as we brought him to AX2004, PMX 2004, and to several bunny events around the bay area. He was our education bunny because he was so small and loving, only 3.2 lbs, and a little angel.

I am working on a memorial page for him, I will post a link when it is ready.

Sadly many of the funds we raised for bunny rescue are now going to pay Leo's medical costs and for his cremation and urn. We are also having a necropsy (atoposy) done to try and find out why a perfectly happy healthy bunny suddenly, with no warning, got pneumonia.

Well, most of you know I do bunny rescue. I am a foster center representative for the House Rabbit Society for Dublin, California. Since 2004 we (my husband and I personally) have adopted out 53 rabbits, and 5 guinea pigs. In fact, you can see my bunnies available for adoption here: http://tvar.org/RP_Adoptable.asp?cid=12

We are trying to get enough money to buy a new house with a detached garage that we can convert into a better bunny foster center for our 10 revolving foster rabbits. Right now we have too many bunnies in our house and we want to keep our (personal) bunnies in the house and make a foster room and Quarantine area for the rotating foster bunnies in this new side building. We will be taking offers until Monday (1/30) at 10pm PST. You will be allowed to raise your offer if you get outbid. We will allow 6 weeks for payment (or a payment plan), but you will need to place a "down payment" if you want us to hold a cel. We will accept PayPal or Money Orders, we will accept checks but we hold them for 7 - 10 days to make sure they clear. All shipping is via USPS.

Your wish is my command. I put up a couple ^_^;

They are in the Miscellaneous section. I added a few other things into there too.

Note to all: I also removed the Hiei with the 3rd eye and the tear gem, that was supposed to have been in the ANFS pile (sorry!)

As for the bunnies- I really admire all the time you put into them and trying to help them. I have a very wonderful house rabbit right now, and am currently trying to adopt another from the San Fran/Marrin House Rabbit Society.

LOL! I -am- the SF/Marin HRS, that's my chapter -- I'm just the Dublin/Livermore foster coordinator of it. Most of my bunnies are part of SaveABunny. I also run the entire SaveABunny website.

Which bunny are you interested in adopting ? I hope you've had a chance to make it over to Marcy's house to meet the bunnies.

I'm in desperate need of adoptions too, so if you know of anyone who is looking for a bunny, lemme know

LOL! Oh really ^_~x I was mostly interested in Tater, and there are a couple of others I was looking at. I wish I could adopt more than just one, but until my danna and I move into our house, we to want to crowd too many into just one apartment, especially since Kiku holds dominion over just about every inch of it ^_~x

I'll take a look at your adoptable bunnies page, too. ( Have only recently filled out application, so didn't get a chance yet to visit any of them yet ). But as soon as we hear something back, am planning to drive out there to meet the other bunnies, as well.

Not to get to far off topic ( sorry everyone ), the cels I was refering to were the Mermaid Forest ones you used to have posted to your site.

I'm SO glad to see you have a white bunny! They are sooo hard to find homes for, it's very sad. White bunnies tend to be the sweetest, friendliest bunnies -- but people get scared off of them because they are "too plain" or have "red eyes". They are so special!

OH i know! my mom got me books about bunnies for xmas, and when i read about how hard it is to find homes for white bunnies... well... i just couldn't believe it! pajamas is an angel.

PEOPLE! if you are thinking of adopting a bunny, white bunnies are BEAUTIFUL! <333
