Katsucon 06?

What's the current status of the informal meeting? Since I have never been, I'm reluctant to take on the job (I don't know what the facilities are like or what the schedule is like). But I'd be happy to come and also to help promote the event in advance through my GMU class.

Saturday night isn't ideal for me (Friday night is better) but I'm willing to work with it.

Hi Sensei, I don't know, but I do know that some others are already talking about trying to get something together. Hopefully, I'll know if they are going to carry through in the next day or two. If not, we should try start the discussion here. I'll be in town that Friday night, and should be able to attend a nighttime event on that day, something Saturday, or something Sunday morning. I was thinking to wait about 4 more days before stressing, but we are getting pretty close. ^_^;

Sherry and I should be able to make it to a Friday night or Saturday night meeting as well. A number of people who don't frequent this board have also expressed an interest in attending some sort of gathering. If we can't get a room in the hotel, maybe we can all go out for a late night snack? I think Saturday night might be better (unless people want to attend the masquerade) considering a lot of people are arriving late on that Friday.

I will be there and can do either day. Since I will be taking the metro in, I will be limited to 2 or 3 cel books. So if you want me to bring a certain cel or series, please ask.

Anyways, sorry for the belated response. Work is just very busy right now.

I'm working on getting us a meeting place. I should know in the next 24-48 hours. If nothing opens up, I might beg my room mates to us take over the room for a bit (3 of the 4 people I'm rooming with also collect cels, it probably won't be an issue). But I'd like to try and find a REAL meeting place before resorting to that.

First things first: HOW MANY PEOPLE are going to attend this gathering? At the moment, I'll set it for FRIDAY night.

I just realized the a couple weeks ago that Katsu was President's Day weekend. I already promised to be out of town then since it's a long weekend for me, so I'll be missing out.

I can be there if it is around 9pm or so. I'll only be bringing my fancels and a few of my FMA sketches. (Sorry, when I have to walk to the hotel, I pack light. ^_^)

Okay...so after some unsuccessful conversations with various bars/restaurants, the cel meeting looks like it will take place in my hotel room. Since I can't get a definite room number from the OmniShoreham yet, I suggest that we all meet down in the lobby. We can proceed from there. Just look for people holding many cel books.

Shall we say...Friday at eight pm?

Katrina: I don't want to make it any later, since some people are coming from a distance and probably don't want to be out too late.

OK: I'll bring a book of cels and one of sketches. Since I'm coming in on the Metro, I can't carry around any more than this. Look for someone with an uncanny resemblance to all those pictures of Saddam Hussein on trial in Iraq.

I'm soooo sorry to have been MIA thru this, I've been having comp difficulties! Now that My new laptop is up and running I can finally say ME TOO!!! I wanna come and poke around cel books. Night time is good for me which ever night. If you need an information hub, remember I'm chained to Curt's cel books during the con so if anyone needs last minute info on where and when, Swing by Asylum during the dealers hours and I can be a living message board.

Um... I *am* one of those people coming from a distance. I don't want to be out terribly late but since I can't leave work until 4:00, 8:00 is pushing it for me. However, I'll make my best attempts to be there. Please hang around for a little bit for me, or drop me an e-mail when you find out the room? I'd hate to come all that way with my cel books and miss this.
