I thought this was pretty cool news, but to be honest, I thought it would take longer to acquire than this. Ren'ai game anime usually take a long time to be acquired (if they ever are).
Just for fun, I thought I'd post a copy of my gambling predictions for next ren'ai game anime to be acquired from July 5, 2004:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't have any knowledge of anime companies like $$$$$ does, but here's my current guess list if I were a gambler. I'll leave out the adult anime titles because as Suika, Class Reunion Again and Flutter of Birds proved - you know most of the adult anime from the last five years is going to get picked up. It's just a question of when.
Here are my current guesstimates from non-adult bishoujo game anime for order of likelihood of being the next one:
Decent shot:
1. Happy Lesson Advance
Fairly Likely:
2. Comic Party Revolution
Somewhat Likely:
3. Raimuiro Senkitan TV series
4. Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito
Possible or Maybe Next Year:
5. Kanon
6. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
7. Da Capo
Not As Likely (since SisPrin is not even out yet):
8. Sister Princess RePure
Quite Unlikely:
9. Triangle Hearts second OVA
10. Pia Carrot 2 DX
11. Green Green TV series
Very Unlikely, But Not Impossible:
12. Moekan
13. Pia Carrot 3 Movie
14. Natsuiro no Sunadokei
15. Raimuiro Senkitan OVA
16. Kita e ~ Diamond Dust Drops
Extremely Unlikely (maybe I'm just EXTREMELY pessimistic for these):
17. Refrain Blue
18. Mizuiro second OVA
19. Elf version Kakyuusei OVA
20. Kakyuusei TV series
21. Tokimeki Memorial
NANI!?!!!:
22. Memories Off Second
23. Memories Off first OVA
No Way:
24. Graduation 1-2
25. One first OVA
Utterly Hopeless:
26. Debut
27. Doukyuusei 2 Special
28. First Kiss Story
Canary, With You, Green Green OVA and True Love Story are wildcards. It's very hard for me to judge those anime. Who knows if they'll disappear forever, be part of a package in the distant future or what. They lack the qualities that give me something to judge them by. They all seem to have extremely few fans and extremely few people rallying for their defense (maybe they're all on MegaTokyo ). They don't seem like they'll ever be able to build up a fanbase either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since this post 6. KimiNozo, 11. Green Green and 16. Kita e ~ Diamon Dust Drops got picked up.
Happy Lesson Advance, Sister Princess RePure and Comic Party Revoluton never had their licenses extended to them from the companies that acquired their earlier series titles.
No other anime have been acquired from off that list as far as I can tell. Tsukihime had already gotten picked up a month and a half earlier (May 2004), but Tsukihime getting picked up was a given. Fate/stay night getting picked up in 2005 was a given too.
But as a whole, the ren'ai game anime that's the most likely to get picked up are the ones with:
1. Lots of comedy
2. Unreal life stuff in it like fantasy or mecha (Gunparade March).
3. Lots of fanservice, nudity or adult scenes
4. Action
5. The ones with at least SOME fanbase to them such as To Heart, Kanon, Air and KimiNozo.
6. Some age to them. Ren'ai game anime tend to take awhile before being picked up. When Sentimental Journey got released on R1 DVD for $20 for all twelve episodes a lot of R1 DVDs were showing up on Yahoo Japan. I can't blame them for buying them because the Japanese R2 DVD price for the set was $190 (even though the Japanese DVDs came with a few small extras).
Hmm...well at least four non-adult anime from them have been picked up in the last nineteen months so that's good.

OFF-TOPIC:
I've noticed a strange pattern here:
I haven't been this happy at an acquistion since "To Heart"(2004) and "Sentimental Journey"(2002) were acquired.
There must be something about to these EVEN numbered years...
Does this mean Kanon (2008 ) and AIR (2010)? LOL
