Custom Titles- when they're granted

Since the forum's conception, I know this question has been raised and answered but when trying to find the relavent thread, I found it was deleted.

As a reference, I'd like to know when individual members are permitted to request a custom user title above their avatar.
Is it something like 2000+ posts?

Soda recently mentioned such titles on another discussion and it reminded me that I didn't know!
This thread kinda discussed it back in May 2004: http://www.anime-beta.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=12631 but didn't hold the answers I was curious about.

This would be a userful thread for newer members too.

It was 2000 posts and above Krafty. I assume it's the same number now.
