Aww thanks Zetsuai, you're always so nice and always have something good to say!! :) :) Appreciate it and I'm glad you liked my Ken cels! I'm certainly happy to add anything from the movie to the collection, especially Ken...as the cels are so hard to come by!

Hahah, yeaah, you deserved soo many thank yous!! The forum is really going nuts today!! One minute it'll be fine and then the next it comes out with this. Maybe I'm a lil impatient waiting for the pages to load, but I have threads to catch up on damnit! :)
And Ken is great...can't say he was one of my first Anime loves tho, but cool all the same!! ;) I can't wait to see your new Zetsuai Cel to arrive either! Hope it arrives soon!

JWR wrote:Well against my better judgement I have been hooked into a couple of new series for my collection.
Congratulations, JWR! I've found that nothing fights the ennui of not seeing fresh inventory for "your" series better than looking at a new series. Sometimes you can see something in another series' cels and sketches that long-time collectors just don't recognize. (I'll be introducing a new gallery myself in a few days.)
Thanks to Sakura-chan selling me the complete dvd's of CCS , I know feel the need to add a few select cels to our collection. It's from episode 1 as the Clow cards escape.

Good choice: while CCS is (as people have said) no longer showing the treasures it did on a weekly basis, there are still a lot of excellent cels on the market, and still priced sensibly. This one I looked at very closely, as a cel from this sequence is a wishlist item. But I passed: I'm still hoping to get one with her eyes open, though I know it will go in the 10K+ range. (I lost one on Mandarake at 15K.) I'm glad I did pass, as I see a bunch of friends were licking their chops over it.
Over time we will pickup a few more but I don't expect to come close to a lot of the CCS collectors like Sensei.
Well ... give it time. My first CCS cel came to in in July 2000, barely a year after it was shown on TV. A lot of clearance sales and cons have come down the pike since then. A few really nice cels, in any case, are always better than a big collection of low-end items. Ganbatte!
I also picked up a genga from Girls Bravo which is a very fun anime but not for the kids. I does have nudity (but not in this genga)
Darn.

Thanks, too, to Kira and Tex-chan for the compliments on the Selece cel/bg. It should go up in the gallery today or tomorrow, with the douga, which is, like all MKR sketches, absolutely solar-plexus-getting.

Kageneko: Good to see that Schneider cel in your gallery, its a strong shot! I remember seeing it on the 'Bay so I'm gld it ended up with a collector who will keep it on display rather than have it disappear for good.

Sensei: Stunning setup you've got there of Selece, I love the shades of blue and the pale outline to the splash- makes it look like an individual piece of graphic design because it has such detail and visual impact.
Good idea to add that CCS background with it too, it enhances it a lot- makes the cel good enough from framing IMO. Will you keep the BG with this cel or return it to it's original source? You could always have a copy made if you wanted it with both pieces.

JWR: That Girls Bravo genga is hillarious! It's pretty much the only type of Japanese huour that has me cracking up every time ^__^ I will have to seek this series out because I've seen a number of alluring genga so far ;)

Tex: I can see what you mean about the pole on the spiral staircase, that's quite a lurid pink- I didn't know you could buy such a colour! I bet it glows in the dark too LOL
Glad you were able to find this setup for your collection.

Ronin: Ha! You're such a big Street Fighter fan- you manage to nab some exciting shots of the various characters. Did you see the settei copies on Mandarake recently? Settei from SFA Generations. I forgot to bid X|
Thanks for adding the screencaps to your pieces too, I like to see that with cels that have no BGs or genga/douga.

Oooh! I'll have to try this and see if it's true.

*clicks off light*

Oh, Aya! Come here, sweetie! I won't hurt you (much) ---> :dgrin

Who said cels were no fun? /gg

EDIT: Well, I couldn't get Aya to come out of the bish closet. Silly assassins --- they're always so suspicious of everyone. :D So, since glow-in-the-dark fun seemed like it wasn't going to happen, I adjusted the brightness/contrast on my scan. Usually, I like for my scans to look as much like the in-person appearance of the cel as possible. In this case, though, it seemed like matching it up with the screencap was a better idea. *shudders at the memory of THE PINK* 8O Hopefully, this version is better. :)

I got a Slayers cel and 4 Advancer Tina cels.
One of the Tina cels shows partial nudity :deek, but it doesn’t depict anything really obscene.

Heheh that I am, I just wish there were more affordable SFII cels about! And it's just sprung to mind, how come you don't own any...did you not like the Animated Movie? I always consider you to be a big SF fan!

And yeaah I saw those SFA Generations Settei too...very tempted, but I forgot to bid aswell...I'm not a Settei collector, but it sure would've been a nice set to own!

More cels, KCF? You're doing well, I guess you're concentating on Rayearth more now?

JWR: LOL, so it was you bidding on that Girls Bravo 'locker room' genga! I was SO close to bidding on that today but so far I've restrained myself from collecting this series. See the girl on the far right- I like the way her show is falling off her foot. It's little details like that that I enjoy picking up on.

GuyverIII: I thought you might get those Tina cels, they were relisted which surprised me because they're great images. I was also impressed with the seller's other setups at the time.
Do you actually know anything abut this series? It looks fairly decent- a typical late 80's anime affair, but I haven't seen it for sale. Guess it's in the same realm as 'Guy'?

Ronin: Apart from SFAlpha, I don't have any other street fighter art because I don't find the artwork to my tastes. The SF movie is good enough to watch, it brings back the memories of the game, memories such as buying the SF Turbo SNES game on import for GB£80 (US$130) when I was a young teenager, LOL
Couldn't class myself as a big fan though, but appreciate the series.
