Updating Rubberslug Pages

Post by Keropi »

I've wondered this for awhile. Can you update your Rubberslug gallery so that it doesn't show up on the front page? :D

Sure. On the "My Account" page, go to the bottom right hand corner and hit "Close Gallery." Now, it won't show up on the front page or the search engine. People with your url can still view it, though, so the link you have up in your non-RS gallery will still work.

When you want it to show back up in searches, just open the gallery back up. :D

I'm not sure about the lag time between opening it and when it will start appearing on RS again, since I always leave my gallery open while I update. You'd have to ask someone who has closed theirs before.

Thanks Klet! But I was kinda hoping that there was a way to do it without having to have your gallery closed. :(

What was the deal about that "Update Button" that you could click once a week to show your gallery updates? I know there was some discussion about it not long ago. Where is that button anyway? I can't find it. ?^_^?

That's 'cuz you're blind.

:joke

Actually, there isn't one as of yet. From what I remember, some other stuff came up that Jason had to take care of, and then the forum tiffs kind of fizzled out, so I'm sure it's not really a number one concern for him at the moment.

Closing down your gallery is about the only way I can think of to make it so your update doesn't appear on the hompage--but it might show up after you reopen--like I said, you'd have to ask someone who's actually done it. X| :D

another way is add the cel/s as protected items.... That way the page is marked as updated but doesn't appear on the main page because it doesn't detect any new "visible" items.....

You can then go back and unprotect them a few hours later.....

This method didn't work in the past but it seems it works now, at least for me....

I always use this when updating my "coming soon" section (which is always hidden anyways) to avoid making people think that i have posted something new when it's just a coming soon item....
