Gone for several days

Post by kymaera »

Leaving tomorrow for several days. Try to survive without me. Heckle
Baakay so she doesn't develop a sense of self-esteem while I'm gone.

The EvilOne told me!

Of course, I have his phone number and the ability to leave strange messages on his answering machine all week if he suddenly dropped off the face of the planet, so I suppose it was a precautionary thing on his part more than anything else.

Anywhoo . . .

I hope everything goes well for you, hon. :friends: <--comfort hugs

Like I said before, if you need someone to talk to, you've got my number. :friends: :friends:

Hey, he may need to. Dealing with extended family gatherings is enough to drive anyone over the brink :P :crazy

Well...since people asked...

My grandpa died last Tuesday morning at the age of 99. He'd had great
health most of his life, but the past month or two, he'd had problems with
pneumonia and his heart. He'd been recovering nicely and we could see
him reaching 100 easily if he continued. The doctor was saying that
everything was looking much better the night before. Then, that night, he
was talking to the nurse and drifted off as if to sleep, only to pass peacefully
away within a matter of a few minutes. After my mother called to let me
know, I booked a flight on Wed to Alabama since it wasn't decided whether
the funeral would be on Thurs or Fri. We had the funeral on Friday due to
relatives coming in from out of town and not being able to get there until
late Thurs. He would've been quite pleased to see the turn-out that he got
as he always enjoyed the attention and number of guests that he got from
his birthday celebrations.

I got back late last night (11 pm) and am pretty much dead today, so
don't expect much posting for a bit.

I am so sorry for your grandpa.... But he seemed to die very very very peacefully.... Almost the ideal way to die. Also he seemed to have such a long happy life.....

I almost feel that I wish I could die like he did....

Awwww, I'm sorry, ky. Even though he passed away peacefully, it was unexpected, which makes it harder. I hope you can get some good rest to recouperate from all the travel and sadness. :ghug:

He had a great life and ended it a great way, he got to speak to a pretty nurse and drifted off peacefully.

Welcome back Kymaera, have a delicious meal and rest your tired self.

Glad you're back safe and sound. :friends:

But geez... it was way too quiet here on the home front with only the random howdy from your end. I am down at least a quart and a half on the abuse meter.

(oh, yeah... I missed you :) )
