The Rasterbator

Post by Sugarflower »

No it's not something perverted. :P I'm sure NSP will make a joke about this, lol.

My fiance showed this site to me today and I thought it would be pretty interesting to show to my Beta family:
http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/
I'm not good with explaining how it works but you can read the web page and try it out if you want.

Basically you take an image such as a photo, cel scan, etc. and this little program rasterizes it for you into a huge image that can be printed out on multiple sheets of paper. Then you tape those images together (preferably on a wall on the room or the door) to create the whole image. Apparently you can even make the image so enormous it can fit on the side of a building.

Just read the site if you are interested in finding out about it. It's pretty neat but if you have a regular printer be prepared to waste all your ink if you want a large image. 8O

I don't know if this is the site they used, but a program recently on Home & Garden network was doing a show about decorating fairly cheaply, and they did exactly that. Blew up a face (first one of the show hosts, for fun, and then Catherine Deneuve (sp?). They spray glued each sheet to a large backing board (don't know whether wood or foamboard. Probably masonite.). It was really nice when they finished. They did B&W, though, because it was supposed to be retro.

To NSP: Is rasterbating anything like vectorbating? (Nothing like good CAD-CAM humor to round out the day.)

My fiance was watching DL.TV and they featured the site on their web broadcast.

Haha, knew you couldn't resist NSP!

Is that what Scooby-Doo does after a long day running around with Daphne? You know hes gotta get all hot and bothered by her hair and tight skirt. I know I do.

Picture won't link so go to main site. Work approved.

Just be careful. If you rasterbate too frequently, you can go blind. 8)

Rasterbating is nothing to be ashamed of, it's perfectly natural.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
