YJ Kenshin OP cel now on eBay

Post by Sugarflower »

Someone actually bought the Kenshin OP cel which had been relisted numerous times on YJ and is reselling it on eBay with no reserve.
Here's the auction

EDIT:
Wait, it looks like it's still for sale on YJ.

That's odd. Seems to be the same photo from the YJ auction too.

What does that mean...? :?

I'm tempted to bid just to see what happens! No reserve!! That just means that they will probably cancel it right before the end. I'm going to email them and ask why the cel is still up on YJ.

I think that the ebay auction is the fake one and should be reported to ebay before someone get there money taken away for nothing.

I'm not so sure I'd jump to that conclusion so quickly. Gauging the eBay seller's response to someone pointing out that the YJ auction is still running might help shed some light on it. Just my .02 cents. :)

I asked and got the response that:
Yes, that's my friend who asked me to sell it on eBay
because he's got communication problems and cant speak
english.

Hope that helps.
But I still think it's a bad thing that it is for auction on two sites. Plus, that seems a little contrary to what the auction states:
I bought from Yahoo! Japan through a website service (togo-shop dot com) which helps me acquire this cel for $800USD++ including the shipping and fees!

I'm wondering the same thing... why would this seller be running a no-reserve auction and mention the $800 + fees?

Sounds like a fake to me as well. This cel shouldn't be allowed to be sold on two different auctions with two different sites. Just think of the worst case senario, someone acutally bids for it or uses the BIN option on YJ plus someone else bids for it on eBay. That would be screwy. :?

Someone could ask the YJ seller about it. This way they would have to respond to the question then hopefully we could get a straight answer.

It's so tempting to want to bid for this cel on eBay. It's very nice and without a reserve but I'm to nervous to do something like that. Why would the japanese seller want his/her friend to sell it on eBay with such a low starting bid when on YJ the price it at 90,000 yen?

Jeez, I'm starting to ramble, sorry. :P

I was almost bidding as well.... and I realized this is the same cel on YJ so I did not. I think you are not only one ;) ;)

I can ask the seller in YJ if you want :)

You should ask the YJ seller then. If both people are aware of the situation,
something might get done. The YJ seller might be able to tell us that no
one has purchased this cel and the one on eBay is fake. Or something
like that. I just don't like the fact that the same photo is being used
but not in the same way. The eBay seller didn't embed the picture the same
way the YJ seller did. Which makes me think this is a scam. Is the eBay
seller even a real cel collector at all? Or just someone who caught on that
cels are worth $$$. :?

The YJP seller's English sounds fine to me... /hmm

Found at the bottom of the YJP auction: "You may send your payment through PayPal. According to PayPal, it is free to register a PayPal ID and it is also free to send money such as USD or Japanese Yen through PayPal. Please click the following PayPal button to see more details."

Yet another contradiction in the reply it would seem. ...Unless the eBay seller really is helping the YJP seller and wrote that up for him/her... :shrug

Thanks for posting the question, kittens. I anticipate seeing the YJP seller's reply. :D
