I think if eBay had ended the auction, it would have been deleted from their
system. I think the seller willingly ended it. I'm guessing one of two things
happened: 1) he received an offer directly from a potential buyer and
decided to "sell the cel" off of eBay, or 2) all of the contacts he's received
and the attention that has been drawn to him might've forced him to give it up.
I'm glad because I honestly don't think this auction was legit. He was
either selling a fancel that looked similar or was flat out going to take
someone's money. His stories were never consistent, double posting is
never a good idea, the fact that only one of the several photos
posted in the YJ auction was used (and rather poorly), and the completely
different prices (a high minimum bid plus buy out price versus a VERY LOW
minimum bid with no reserve). If this had been consignment, the auctions
should've looked identical and the "reasons" why he was selling would've
correlated with one another. Nothing added up. If the YJ seller had replied,
we could've known for sure. This is just my conjecture.
Should we keep an eye out and make sure this doesn't happen again?
