Did only the ebay auction end? Or, did the YJ one end, too?
Maybe the YJ seller contacted the ebay seller and "convinced" them to end the ebay auction ... ???

Dear Heather,
This is the seller of the Japan auction # m14357202
(Kenshin cel).
Thanks for your message/question on my auction site. I hope you can see this email message as I don't know if you are still using this email
account.
Actually someone else has posted the same question as yours to me this week. The potential buyer (the one who posted the question to me) also asked if I had posted the auction on eBay. I can tell you, that eBay one is a scam.
I haven't placed auction on eBay and I don't have any account at eBay. So please don't bid on that one on eBay. I think you can see from that eBay picture the scammer just used the same photo of mine.
I cannot answer your question on my auction site because I don't want to
advertise for that scam eBay seller by telling other people about that eBay auction site address. If I reply, other viewers can see the web linkage you posted in your question.
Sorry and thanks for your understanding!

Ohhh! So that's why she never replied! I was wondering about that....
Thanks so much Heather
Now we finally know. Whew....
I guess we'll have to keep an eye on this guy.
What a horrible situation. I hope no one gets duped. Can we contact eBay?
I seriously doubt they'll do anything, as the proof is largely circumstantial.
I suppose the email Kaminari received has tracks on it, but I don't know
if that will matter much. eBay is like the seedy Black Market of the internet
in a lot of cases.
When they should step in and end an auction, they don't.
Thanks so much Heather

I love how scammers are always so stupid.
They probably stumbled across the Y!JP auction or whatever and thought- "Ooooh!! I'll bet no one has ever browsed these Japanese auctions or know about them because...they're in Japanese!! So if I post this same item at Ebay- I can sell it for hundreds and hundreds and they'll never know I don't actually have the cel!! Hee hee hee."
It's like, hey, morons, you're dealing with COLLECTORS. You have no idea what you're up against- but the majority of us have a keen knowledge of cels and where they are available and whether or not one auction is of a fake cel, a fan cel, or of a cel that is listed somewhere else by someone else.
Sometimes it amazes me that they think they are going to actually get away with this. There may be less savvy people who don't actively collect cels that can get taken advantage of on Ebay in situations like this- but at least we're around to call the thief out as soon as we see it ^_~x

What was the seller ID on this guy? I took the cel off my watch list as soon as it became obvious that things were not exactly what they seemed... and I'm concerned about the potential for bidding on another one
