Introduced a new friend of mine to Eva recently. I sent him home with the boxed set and last night we had the grand finale at my house with End of Eva.
I still get choked up at that movie, and even though I've watched it like 20 times now I still pick up stuff I hadn't before.
Have you seen the new manga series that's being released? It's a sort of
tweaked retelling, if the kids' lives had been normal and average. It's
based on a plot from one of the Eva video games. Seems to be a fan favorite.
Girlfriend Of Steel is the name of one of the Eva video games so that might be where the title came from. It does sound like the alternate reality that Klet mentioned though. Would be an interesting read anyway. Wow... everyone being relatively happy in Tokyo-3 eh?

I actually have girlfriend of steel for the saturn and it is NOT the alternate reality from the end of the series. It takes place during the regular series near the middle (before the 11th angel comes according to wikipedia). They made a ps2/computer game that IS the alternate reality and most of what I have read says the manga is supposed to be that alternate reality that is seen at the end of the eva series.

Just to clear up, I wasn't saying that Girlfriend of Steel (the game) is the alternate reality since I also have the game myself. I was only saying that that title was used for the aforementioned game. I was referring to the alternate reality in the series as being the one portrayed in the new manga. ^_^
