Six years later, time to say hello-goodbye!

Post by Galatea »

Some of you may remember me from Animanga as 'summfox' or know my gallery 'cel materia' at rubberslug!

If not, my name is Jennifer and I've not been involved in cel collecting for a good three years now. About two weeks ago I realized I never look at my cel collection anymore or even just THINK about it, so its time to move on. I'm here in the hopes of being able to sell off the majority of it. I'm keeping the real heart and soul of my collection like my Galatea cels, my Shido pancel and all my Fruits Basket sketchs, but everything else is going.

I don't have any particular need for the money right now, but I suspect it'll slowly get transformed into more Nyanko plushies (I have over 250!) I'm also going to be moving soon, so one less 'fragile' collection to worry about would be great. I just hope my cels will go to some nice new homes where they'll be fully appreciated.

Plus, our ultimate moving goal for this year is Tokyo (with a stop over in a rented apartment for the convenience of being able to get out of it quickly instead of the mortgaged house we have now!) How silly would I feel importing back into Japan a massive Nyanko collection, a large vintage silk kimono collection, some asian ball-jointed doll stuff AND an anime cel collection? LOL. :P The excess baggage of three hobbies is enough I think!

At any rate, hello for now!

In that case, hello and welcome for now... and good luck with your ultimate moving goal. :) You have some beautiful cels - I'm sure that you'll have no trouble finding new homes for them!

I remember stopping by your gallery when I came across it on RS one time. Love your Galatea collection; she has such a cool character design with the black hair, red eyes and green lips. ^_^

Good luck with your future plans!

Thanks all! ^_^ It is sad, I spent quite a long time thinking about it and my husband kept saying, "Are you SURE? Are you SURE?" He's really sweet, he hates it whenever I feel like I "need" to sell stuff because I need the money. But this isn't about money (although obviously I do want to get fair prices for my collection.)

And I am keeping my most loved cels (like my Galatea's), so its okay. Actually I might try to buy up some of the adult Galatea's that I know are still out there just as one last final addition.

I will be selling the Battle Athletes OVA cels though, or at least a few of them. Keeping the game cel of Akari though because its just so beautiful! If any of you see something you'd like, please PM me. :)
