Some pieces that reinforce my belief in anime artwork as masterful:
New 'Teen Romance' series, MEMORIES OFF as ID'd by the illustrious Keropi. Two cuts of a pretty girl, the shuseii linework is [dare I say] 'perfect' on the second character drawing and Cowgirl Kanata looks a stunner.
A comedic setup from MEZZO FORTE. This shot makes me smile every time I see it.
GOSEKI KOJIMA COPY SHIKISHI. Drawn by a man whose style screams out traditional Japanese brush art, I have a lot of respect for him. This picture, though simple, demonstrates a sweet sentiment within the context of the violent series and it's full of character. That's why I was still happy to have it, even though it is a copy. I have another on the way...
CYBER CITY OEDO genga of 2 main characters, Benten and Sen Goku.
You can feel the energy in this artwork, something that most contemporary genga lacks and it looks very much 'of it's era' which appeals to me.
The Kawajiri theme continues into NINJA SCROLL with a cel of main-man JUBEI KIBIGAMI with a glint in his eye.
Plus a douga of the devilish, ZAKURO. Again, the line weights on this douga are spectacular, just the sort of thing to get me excited ^__^
I'm currently working my way through both Lone Wolf & Cub and Samurai Executioner, though, so Daigoro just leapt out at me and snagged my heartstrings. What a tuff little nut he is!
