After work tomorrow I'm off to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, hope it'll be worth while as the tickets cost a packet [GBP 44.00, approx USD 84.00]. When I've seen them before the tickets have been less than half that, but I guess the band have attracted a lot of new fans...
Anyway, it made me think about some of the great and not-so-great gigs I've been to and bands I've seen-
Good - Sixty Watt Shaman / Karma To Burn. Amazing joint-headliners from these US bands I've suported for some time. 60wS have kept their heads down recently whilst KtB have split up- I was REALLY privilleged to see then when I did.
The Truckfighters from Sweden also rank at the top. Second time I saw them they only played to half a dozen people [bad advertising I think] but they showed a lot of energy and drive.
Bad - Soil. The mic was bust and caused several problems, the arrogant singer didn't help matters as he stormed around threating to injure the sound techies. The gig otherwise seemed routine to them, they had little charisma and showed no respect to their support [they were billed 2nd of 3 bands that night]
Ugly - Scissorfight. Big-bearded, beer-guzzling, sweat-dripping, dirty rockers. That was a great gig ^__^
Who would feature in your Good, Bad and Ugly?
Music Concerts- the Good the Bad & the Ugly
I'm afraid you will all laugh at the concerts I've been to. I honestly haven't gone to too many, but the ones I have gone to will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am indeed old and square! hahaha! But what the heck... y'all knew that about me by now anyway. No big surprises here I guess.
The Good: Chicago. These guys are getting old, but they can still belt out that signature brass sound. (And my favorite "just plain fun" concert would probably have to be Huey Lewis and the News. Fun fun fun.)
The Bad: Crosby, Stills, Nash. UGH, these guys STANK! I was sitting with a bunch of DJs from our local radio stations, and none of them could identify any of the songs for at least 30 seconds into each song.
So very bad.
The Ugly. Willy Nelson.
Don't even ask. I went as a favor to a friend. It was truly uuuuuugly.

Huh. Try expression yourself another way.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Ahh ok.
Good: Godsmack and Stone sour. What a awesome night! Everything was great and the show was even better!
bad: Deicide. It was a great show and the band was cool but man did I get my ass kicked in the pit xx;...I had bruises for weeks. The rowdy crowd is what made it bad
Ugly:Ozzfest 2 or 3 years ago. Marylin Manson. HE SUCKS BIG TIME

Interesting that you bring up this topic. I was going to make a similar one the other day. First let me list who I've seen:
Whitesnake
Slaughter
Tesla (acoustic and plugged in)
Hurricane
Poison
Cinderella
Metallica
Bullet Boys
Warrant
Judas Priest
Anthrax
Iron Maiden
Godsmack
Van Halen
Great White
Megadeth
Dokken
Motley Crue
Dream Theater
There might be more but can't think of them all right now.
Good: most all of them but I loved Tesla's acoustic version--kicks ass
Bad: Megadeth was horrible only because the volume was so high I couldn't make sense of anything he sang. Same problem with Metallica.
Ugly: Warrant was bad too because they had a new singer and when they started, everyone left. He almost got in a fight with one of the few remaining people.
