Sugarflower grows horns and breathes fire!!! ROUND 2!!

Post by Sugarflower »

Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE webhost? PLEASE! :kaioken
I'm tired of Dreamhost farting all the time! Apparently it has had horrible gas for the past few hours this evening and I can't connect to the servers to update my webpages or upload pictures for posting to my eBay auctions. In fact, the darn photos are not even showing up on my current auctions as we speak!! How the heck am I supposed to get bidders if they can't see what they are bidding on???? *exudes steam from her ears*

I've heard recently that Dreamhost is becoming more and more unreliable. I currently pay around $10 a month for their services and would like to find a reliable service for around this price........... yes I'm cheap. (all my precious money must go to cels :D )

Ok, end of rant and sorry if I bothered anyone with my choice words above.

I loves me some Cyberpixels:

www.cyberpixels.com

I have no less than 4 seperate hosting and domain accounts with them, and in the past 3 years of their service, I only had downtime once on one of the domains, and they fixed it quickly. Plus, they have hosting plans as cheap as $7.95 a month.

Where did they get them?

How can you resist a thread topic with a title like THAT? :D

My gallery is on Bluehost http://www.bluehost.com/ I'm not sure how much hubster pays for the premium package, but not much ... as his own is on another spot. There's so much "stuff" in there that I've never even looked at (heck, I have a hard enough time getting my cel site updated X| )

It has hiccuped exactly once since I've been there.

Now, if we could just get Comcast to be as reliable... :?

I'm using Tripod for $4.95 a month, but a few days ago my friend made fun of me for using it. :)

I'm assuming using Tripod is Old School like using Netscape or something? :^^: Well whatever...it works fine for me so I'm still using it. :shrug

I use Geocities, and it hardly ever gives me any problems. I'm going to be upgrading to the $9 a month package so I can have a domain name and get more storage :)

As for photo hosting, I use www.photobucket.com for ALL my auctions :)

Bluehost is who I use. I will warn you to steer clear of lunarpages.

Hi Sugarflower, I'm sorry to hear that about your host. A few of my friends were complaining as well especially when they said that they had not one but four problems.

However, I can recommend my webhost, very reliable, very great webhost that provides excellent customer service. Tons of space, tons of bandwith, and I've had no problems running any of my sites, and only one downtime just to switch to an even faster server.

They are only $7.77 a month and always have specials, like currently you get one year free domain name with one-year purchase. It's http://www.powweb.com. Like I said, I highly recommend them...so far nothing but excellent service and I've used them since October last year. Let me know if you go with PowWeb! :D

Thanks for the help everyone. The server finally started to work again about 2am. :l I'm so behind on placing my eBay auctions up so I'll be spending all evening and night working on things again.

I do use Photobucket and used to use it all the time for my auctions but since we started an account with Dreamhost I've just been dumping everything on them. :) I'm going to bookmark some of the sites you have posted and will show them to my fiance tonight.

Looks like Dreamhost has been having problems yet again this week!! Everything is down at this moment due to one of their generators catching on fire earlier so their having a power outage at their datacenter.

So my current auctions have no visible pictures yet again and some have less than a day left before they end. This is what I get for keeping this host and not changing to another one earlier. X|

Sorry to hear about your ongoing web problems!!! :( I use photobucket for all my e-bay auctions and have never had a problem with them. I know it's easier to dump everything on your main page, but it'd probably be better to stay safe for e-bay (no one likes to bid without piccies! :P)

I think that's what I'm going to have to start doing Lynxa. I'll probably need to use photobucket again. X|
