You have got to be kidding me. I thought it died with the 90s. Now it's back haunting me and interupting perfectly good toons on adult swim. You'd think with so many great shows out there they wouldn't have trouble finding a good cartoon for that slot. We go from Saved by the Bell to this crap.

Well...that officially kicks Adult Swim off my watch list...*sigh*
Seriously, he always creeped me out...now why would I want to be horrified all over again? Why do they keep changing their line-up so much?? The only good things now are Robot Chicken, Futurama and the occasional good anime.

My fiance tried to make me sit to watch the show with him. Needless to say after about 10 minutes of the 'HA HA' (that damn stupid little laugh that Peewee ALWAYS does like every 5 seconds) we changed the channel and have never looked back.
I don't know... I think parts of that show are funny and clever! But of course, I remember thinking that as I sat watching it with my 3 year old! Don't know if I could sit through a whole episode now. (Yah, I probably could! hahahaha) But I do think that is an exceedingly weird choice for AS... Of course, I would have said that putting Saved By The Bell on AS would have been the death knell for that whole network as people would rise up en masse against them... aaaand they got fantastic ratings. CRAP. That means they'll pick more junk like that. So I guess commercially they are making good decisions. Too bad it takes real money to run a television network.
Are you guys SERIOUS???? I almost had a SEIZURE I was so excited they were going to start showing this on CN!!!!!! I LOVED it when I was a kid, and somehow I think it's even funnier now. Particularly after a couple of beers
I also love Pee Wee. His show is a sort of homage to all of those psychedelic
puppet based kids' shows you don't get today (something like "Between the
Lions" just isn't the same... it's not as freaky).
Remember the Banana Splits?
Likewise, Big Top Pee Wee was one of Burton's best films.
Ahhh man... The Banana Splits. I used to watch them right after H.R. PuffNStuff, another freaky-weird guy-in-a-big-ugly-suit show that I thought was grooooovy at the time! Kinda like The Monkeys in live-action animation style. haha! Good times... goooood times.
I stopped watching adult swim for a while now. I didn't know that show was on AS. That's strange, of ALL shows that could be put on AS, why PeeWees playhouse? Just hearing that show brings back memories...
I distinctly remember one episode with him dancing around all crazy-like to Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made For Walking" whilst they played the video or something with a dancing blonde girl in the background behind him. o.O
And I can't forget the Banana Splits theme tune of course.
Without a doubt, PeeWee's Playhouse certainly had it's moments (anything that has a young Rob Zombie working as a P.A. on it can't be all bad ).
The current show (actually in it's 2nd season) that's got me hooked is "Wonder Showzen" which has the outward appearance of a kid's show, but is in reality a very, very dark adult satire.
Sorry guys, I'm with the originator of this thread.
I hated Pee Wee when I was a kid and I think that whoever made the choice to bring it to Adult Swim should be shot (along with the creators of Squidbillies, Tom Goes to the Mayor and Minoriteam And the execs that decided to put them on the air).
I Have to go watch Food Network or some anime DVDs until CN is safe again.
Seriously, I would rather watch reruns of Cowboy Bebop, Big O and Trigun. Heck They could even rerun Witch Hunter Robin and Wolf's Rain instead of show that ^&$#!#$%.
Never saw it as a kid but now find myself oddly fixed to the tv when it's on the channel. Was that Samuel Jackson as a cowboy? Phil Hartman as a fisherman? Neat....
