to make the show sound more edgey

The completely different appearances beside...I actually found it quite odd that Buttercup was using a mallot-like weapon that looks an awful lot like Skuld's that she wacks the virus bunnies with on Ah My Goddess!

I haven't seen the YouTube video (work... you know

) but the anime itself is mesmerizingly strange.

I was watching the first episode marvelling at the oddness of a Japanese anime that is a spinoff of an American cartoon that was modelled after Japanese anime... Take Powerpuff girls, insert every anime cliche in the book, toss in a barely-disguised Tezuka character or five, shake vigorously, et voila!

It's ... WEIRD! but you HAVE to see it!

I like it as a separate thing, but not as "Powerpuff Girls." The point of the
original was a group of superhero girls, that possessed super strength,
super speed and the ability to fly, etc. But this strips the girls of that power
and forces them to rely on some special weapons. Bleh. It's like comparing
Superman to Ironman. One is endowed with the power, the other relies on
something external. Just doesn't seem as extraordinary to me.

I didn't know the PPGs were that popular there(at least enough to make a new series). I think the artwork for the girls is cute as well, but I like the original ones just as much. Kinda sucks that they weren't "born" in the professors lab though. Anyway, the Whoop-Ass girls live once again!
