I agree with everything that has been said. It is tough
somtimes to justify adding more to the auction then the
bare minimum. Being a compulsive buyer as I am, I
tend to spend more on cels then I ever get back in return.
Quite frankly, I lose alot on auctions. X| Throw in the listing
fees and if you are lucky to sell it the selling fees - its a ton.
Then, if you accept paypal, there are more fees. It just
seems to be a lose lose situation.

Hence, why I am only trying to buy wishlist cels, and not
be so impulsive. :P

SME wrote:My biggest pet peeve about auctions is NO description, or generally just a description that "this is an anime cel, line fading common" and that's it. I want to know the cel number, where it's probably from (if you know the episode number), if the sketch/bg is stuck and what other goodies it comes with. This happens a lot on YJ, with auctions just stating the terms and nothing about the cel itself.
I totally hate that! :x Some kind of description would be great, but so many
auctions lack anything more than a series title and a picture. X|

The fees to sell are annoying, but I guess I don't look at it the same way
as everyone else. I realize the fees cut into your potential profits, but
when ever I've sold cels (which is extremely rare) it's more to just get rid
of the cels and not necessarily for profit. The 25 cents for a thumbnail
could be the money I pay for something less important. I'll just do without the
unnecessary luxury of something like 25 cent gum in order to be able to
afford the thumbnail, because I feel it's an important convenience in my sales.

I always start my auctions at $1 and pray there's a bidding war.
Always works for me.

After reading this topic, I think I do pretty good with my auction descriptions, its having things people want that's the problem, heh.
Don't touch me, but I need a hug.
