Auction item quality order preference

Post by Keropi »

1. If there were a lot of artwork on auction from the same anime, would you prefer the higher quality/more expensive auctions end first or the cheaper ones?

2. What if you were SELLING a lot of artwork from the same anime? Would you prefer to auction the "higher quality" items first or last?

I could see either option working for or against you in both cases.

Heh, here's a no way to fail tactic :P

Place the 2 best pieces to end first and last, and the others in the middle, preferably with another good one in the very middle..... That way you are inviting people to a bid war. And this way there are more chances of people taking the "not as good ones" as consolation prizes if they can't win the good ones.

1. BUYING: I go for a range depending on what visual characteristics appeal to me. But if the price is good, the completest in me buys the lot :D
Just like this week when some half-price G-Taste and Imma Seiden setups caught my eye. A few looked great but those 3 turned into 16 cels... *oops*

2. SELLING: Place the worst 1 or 2 at the start [to get early interest for the series].
Good ones should follow so that people will latch onto them early and bid wars may ensue.
Leave the rest till last, as DS says, as consolation pieces for those who didn't win the biggies. I often buy something else immediately if I don't win what I'm initially going for. I'm foolish and predictable in that respect.

i don't do quality when posting at all, and i don't even think about it when buying.

when i sell, i like to try and keep things together... series. that's about it... just keeping all the vhd:b togther in a group and MCK in a group... just b/c i like better when i'm going through Ebay links that have series i'd want... but i there will be a OLS cel then some other cels, another OLS cel... somre more cels, maybe one or two more.

i realize that's probably to tyr and get me to look at the other auctions, but i don't, sometimes i don't go past the one outlaw star cel.

i like groups, and i don't even concider quality when posting or searching. when buying, i'll click go, mmm not my thing... go back and click on the next one. not thought what so ever to the order. but that's me.
