Just remember that I'm laughing with you . . .

That's soooo great that you're finally done. :D I've got another two years . . . probably some time after that, too. X| Maybe I should decide on a direction for my life . . .

Yeah, you know you passed! :)

p.s. If someone wants to stick a fork in Kay, I'll stick a fork in kymaera and he can pass it on the next time he goes to visit. :P :D

About danged time ya wench :P We don't have to call you "Master Baakay" now, do we?? :rollin
Oh well hey, if that were the case you'd have had to be calling me that all along. Now I'll just have TWO sets of funny marks after my name instead of one. MLS in 1992, MS (we hope) in 2006. And the bachelor's was in 1979. If I hadn't wimped out on the law degree I woulda had one per decade.

Can you say: "glutton for punishment?" suuuure you can.

***********

And MY recurring dream is always that I've signed up for a history class that has about twenty gynormous books as required reading. Sometime around "too late to do squat" in the semester I realize I haven't been to class all semester, and when I try to drop the class (via a dial-up, ancient modem computer) I can't successfully dial all the numbers in the right sequence FAST enough to get into the system and drop the class. So I end up with a fail on my record.

Or... I get a letter that I never finished a paper I was supposed to write for "Alas, my ass, Suzanne!" (library school prof) and they're revoking my first Master's.

Gack.

***************

Further comment: ACK! I"VE BEEN FORKED!

**************
which actually is kind of a neato segue to:

An aside: When Nate was getting ready to commence being a doctor of thinkology a couple of years ago, the girls were quite amused and ran around the house chanting "Dr. Daddy and Master Mommy!" Well now, my buddy Steve, the music librarian, got ahold of that and turned me BEET RED by suggesting the scenario of Master Mommy in leather with a whip....

(probably because it sounded like such a good idea!!)

Thanks for all the props, everyone!! I hope I'm going to actually revert to my pre-insanity level of neuroticism now!

You are SUCH a wise woman, Kay! And knowing when to call it quits shows you are indeed smarter than some people who finished those PhDs and died shortly thereafter. :)

Congratulations on gaining that second Masters... it's always nice to have a spare. :D

So... you're saying I'm a wiseguy, is that it? :D

We'll pass the 'gratz for sure when I hear whether I passed. I think I did, but you never know.

The worth of having of the extra is more true than you know. If we ever need to move, it might get me a job -- lots of academic libraries will only tenure people who have an MLS *and* a second master's. So... yeah, I'll be in a much better position to set myself up to work for 20 more years or so X|

Yeah. Like I could get THAT past airport security these days. Heck...they'd
bludgeon me to death just for a spoon, I think.

Oh..and in honor of the "stick a fork in me" theme, I present Baakay with

Late to the party again... :/

CONGRATULATIONS!

Gah. I just graduated in May-- I do know what it's like to go without sleep for 6 straight months killing myself on a final project. Yet I can't even imagine what you've just gone through! O.O

Please, PLEASE take yourself to some resort and spend a minimum of 48 hours at a spa, preferably having others move your limbs for you (Crispin and I escaped to Palm Springs for a weekend after graduation, and we did a warm-pool watsu session-- it's amazing, and good for the soul!). :)

Your body needs some serious R&R. Make sure it gets it!

I'm very happy for you! Again, congrats! ^_^

Hey, I've had that one too!!!! 8O
I spend the entire dream running around campus trying to find it, and find it just in time for the final exams to be handed in. X| :P

Ok THAT is PRICELESS!!

... and I probably ought to tape my virtual mouth shut right there :P

Izzy! Hot springs! What an idea!!!

I have to admit though that doing the comps was much less strenuous than the school year that ended last december (when I was trying to do 3 classes per semester plus my job. That was what almost killed me). This was more a "let's see... can I remember ANYTHING about this material a year down the road?" :D Stressful enough, to be sure... but mercifully brief.

Now I can revert to being the numbskull who can't remember the names of any of the characters in any of my favorite anime. ;)

Oh, except for that blue guy... who was he again? *grin*
