Yes, that labyrinthine, don’t blink or you’ll miss an important plot point, Mech heavy, retelling of the old saw of the pain man brings upon himself and others with his petty jealousies, vindictiveness, and hubris, when he tries to play God.

Of course, it also showcases the altruistic good in man, as with the hero, Yuu, and the recurring theme starting in episode one, that he feels he can fight on, no matter how badly hurt he is, as long as his right hand is OK. In the last episode he says what it means to him: "My right hand is not for defeating enemies....my right hand is for saving companions!"

Gets me every time!
