If you aren't particular, keep your eyes open for "Angel", the 1980's English adaptation. It was one of those low-budget children's videos.

Yep. I forget if it was Celebrity Just for Kids who released it, or one of the other low-budge importers of the 80s. Back then when there wasn't much interest or investment in anime in the US, these companies picked up these shows and dubbed them on the cheap, and released them for generally less than $10 a video. A lot of times you could find them in the bargain bin at places like K-mart or Walmart, or on the racks in grocery stores or pharmacies. Sometimes there were cuts for nudity or violence, and sometimes the scripts were re-written. But that was where I got my my first copy of Vengeance of the Space Pirate (My Youth in Arcadia).

I would love to watch it again... but I have to say that Angel was a bit silly wasn't she? who will ever imagined that the seven colors flower was well, where it was :D not giving spoilers here in case you haven't watched it all. In my country there's a continuos joke that the guy that will always give flower seeds at the end of each episode was actually a marihuana dealer and was always selling the good stuff :emb

I liked the show so much when I was a little girl that I had a powder (that had belonged to my grandma and she had given it to me) and I grabbed a few sharpies and draw the seven color flower on the back of the powder and I would play pretending I was her trying to change outfits :rollin

I also have the search on YJ... and in case I manage to find the series in english (from a fansub in my country) I will let you know girls. That anime is a classic here together with Mazinger Z, Candy Candy and a few robot shows.
