Not new to cels or Beta, but been away a while!

Post by Hana »

So much so that a lot of the names here aren't familiar. Thus, it's probably best if I just introduce myself. I'm Hana, and I'm a cel addict. While I haven't been a terribly active addict for...about two years or so, the lure and love of acetate remains.

My Rubberslug gallery is really small right now, and my shared gallery with my best friend is terribly out of date, but I hope to rectify both of those in the near future.

My favorite series for collecting has to be CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan. Card Captor Sakura and Tenshi ni Narumon are probably my other favorites, though I know my collection will never compete with some of the outstanding ones I've seen here. I'm okay with that, because the cels I have from them are all special to me. :)

With the Animanga forum seemingly falling victim to spambots, and after several days lurking around reading, I think I'm ready to come out of hiding and join in here. ^_^

Saw your gallery on RS, it's so nice to see you posting!
I like your cel collection very much and the pink color scheme is adorable. :)

Show! Show! Many of us once were just going to buy just one or two CCS or TnN cels ... and they were then very special to our hearts. And so these first few still are very special to us, even though little by little they managed to smuggle in many of their cel-mates and open a multitude of pinholes in our bank accounts.

Dear Anime-Beta Participant,

Due to concerns we have for the safety and integrity of the Beta community we issue this warning.

Per the Betarian Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your Beta avatar and refuse to provide birthday greetings and other amenities to you if we believe that your cel collection may have been infected by spambots due to your visiting Animanga.

Therefore, to maintain your Beta identity, you will immediately ship all of your cels to the collection below, so that they may be scanned, checked for bot infection, and, if necessary, fumigated. All non-infected cels will be returned to you fairly quickly. Cels found to be compromised may be quarantined for an indefinite period of time for your protection.

We thank you in advance for your efforts to combat spoofing. :D

Thanks for all of the kind replies and welcomes, everyone. Ever since hubby and I bought our house August of last year, I hadn't even taken my cels out of their closet, but I pulled out the Itoyas and the art portfolios tonight and...it's like coming home. Seeing this community also has reminded me of what I love about cel collecting; it's not just the acetate, but the wonderful like-minded people with whom to share the acetate.

I'm looking forward to spending time on my gallery and time admiring all of yours. :^^:

What do you see?

I've got some of mine up here, but ack, that site's so out of date. :l First order of business is to find all their friends and reunite them.

Ah, that gave me a great laugh. :P The one constant in cel collectors everywhere is that we must all have a sense of humor. I'll make you a deal, though. I have a large extra bedroom, so I invite you to come conduct an on-site inspection and fumigation. Cel party!

No, no, Hana! At all costs, you MUST keep Sensei away from your cel collection. :badass Instead ... I shall conduct the required inspection/fumigation/licking ...

Er ... wait ... was I typing out loud? /wah :flushie

In all seriousness, I just love your collection! Your CCS, TnN and Clamp Campus Detectives (I hope I got that name right X| ) cels are just beautiful! I also think the color scheme of your gallery is lovely and really shows off your cels very well. Oh, and I love the X cel you have up on your RS gallery. What a powerful image! 8O 8)
