I think I know that one.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

And let me just follow that up with a hearty "good grief" from a person who grew up without:Lynxa wrote:OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!![]()
seatbelts in cars;
bicycle helmets, knee pads or wrist guards;
warning labels on everything;
crossing guards at the street corners;
and grew up. (I was gonna say grew up mostly ok, but .. *twitch*)
Seriously. We can't...shield...the kids... from everything. Kids fall down, go boom. It's part of growing up. I'd be more worried about the un-resiliant parents and grandparents falling down, going boom, because they MIGHT be likely to sue. (Which I suppose is the real point, since the kids are just going to cry and go back to playing).
A few pieces of gravel embedded in the knee one in awhile is good for the soul.

You know, I grew up in the 80s. I don't think I ever owned a safety helmet. And you know what? NOTHING HAPPENED. I rode my bike around just fine. The most I'd get were scuffed elbows or knees.
Recess was all about playing sports, even if you were just tossing balls at each other (anyone ever play 4 corners?). If anything, when you were sent to time out so you couldn't play any games, it was a PUNISHMENT.
I weep for our future. If my sister ever has any kids, I hope she doesn't become one of the crazies.

How about playing under power lines.
