I don't suffer from this disease. If I want to collect from a series, I do. Granted it may take a while to find what I want. I wanted to collect from Tokyo Babylon for the longest time but I could never find any cels for sale. I thought it was hopeless. Then suddenly like a wave, a whole bunch of cels became available . . . a lot of which reside in my gallery.
I also noticed a trend of people naming series as "expensive" that aren't. Sure, some shots are but there are plenty of good shots that aren't. I've been selling some Inuyasha cels and they all have stayed reasonable. Bad for me but good for the buyers. And Fruits Basket isn't expensive, it can just be hard to find.
Pokemon Bid wars and cel hogs are a big problem (mostly from Japanese bidders). I buy what I can get, but usually the stuff I really want is above what I can afford
Hey Arnold Cels are EXTREMELY rare, but suprisingly are not as expensive as many anime series. I would have more if I could just find them!! I'll take anything, even if it's just an arm!
Slayers Love, love this show, but no cels to this day have called out to me. Guess all the really good ones are gone?

I kind of agree with you there, I keep reading X on peoples lists and I keep thinking X cels have gone down you crazy people they're so much more reasonable now!
Kodocha (I really want cels of Akito but most of the ones I see only have Sana), Marmalade Boy, Kare Kano (Tsubaki), Full Metal Alchemist, Fruits Basket (tried it but it wasn't worth keeping up), Cowboy Bebop and Eva (especially Misato cels).
Cels I have that I wish I had more money for: Inu Yasha, Saber Marionette J, Escaflowne and Sailor Moon

Well basically I am of course focusing on Juuni Kokki but I wouldn't mind to get a couple really nice cels from El hazard, Slayers, Initial D and several others. The main reason I dont is mainly because I simply dont have that kind of cash to spread my collection.

I have always wanted to collect from Lodoss OVA, Ah My Goddess, and G1 Transformers. The G1 Transformers series are especially hard to find, and when I do find one, I find myself competing against middle-aged guys (or ones close to my age, *cough cough*) who have a lot more money and time than I do. But, one day . . . .
Nowadays, I have been trying to be a lot pickier with buying cels because I am so limited with funds from school. But, the series I have been concentrating the most on are Bleach and Inuyasha.
I got already enough expensive series I collect from so that's basically the main reason for most that I wont collect these. But it's also the quality or the shots I am looking for are just not available at all.
I probably wont collect these, but maybe buy one or two cels or sketch sets of it and that's it. Now I wont step on my own feet, but if a wish item would show up or more then I will see whatever happens happens. That's how I look at things anyway.
Macross Plus : Availability is the problem. And if something does show up they are not good quality in my opinion. Well of course some have shown up that are amazing but then the price is outrageous.
Fushigi Yuugi : I used to collect it and then sold all off (yeah kick me). Nowadays the availability and quality is my problem.
Ninja Scroll: Because I don't want just anything of it and the ones I want I can't find the artwork of.
Cowboy Bebop: No nice shots around of it OR they way to expensive.
X : Again the shots that I want aren't available or they too expensive in my opinion.
Samurai Champloo I can't find what I want. Plus with CG series I prefer complete sets of sketches (douga,genga,layout etc). So with SC it's impossible, unless it's one of my top 5 WAMTS of this series and the genga would show up I would maybe buy it.
Trinity Blood Nothing around that I want.
Vampire Hunter D Original and bloodlust Either too high or nothing I want available.
Final Fantasy Unlimited: Would love to collect from this series but I can't find anything from it
Rurouni Kenshin: I love a few characters but can't seem to justify spending that much on one cel Especially when there are series and characters that I love so much more.
X sketches (TV): Haven't seen anything save the sketches from the video game.
Chrno Crusade: Can't find sketches, may just have to pony up for a rilezu
I'm somewhat alarmed at the number of members who are interested in the same titles! Ack! Rivals! haha.

As many of us find, it's difficult to find high quality artwork, for a reasonable price no less!! There are some series that I own a few pieces but would like more, but the same problems arise as for the abvove titles.
I think about collecting Rahxephon also, especially, when someone I know asks me if I'm ready to buy the ones he owns.
If I ever saw Princess Tutu art, I would probably buy it though.
I would like to own a piece of FMA, Wolf's Rain, X and OMGoddess.
But, when it comes down to it, the money I spend on other series takes away from the money I can spend on the ones that I already collect. So I don't get into a lot of different series.

Smart decision. I recognise that. But it requires self discipline that I'm simply do not have.
I'd have been so proud to have owned just one piece from FLCL, but I've never seen so much as a genga or a layout.
Another title I'd love to collect is Witch Hunter Robin, but again, never seen any dougas for that series either. Settei copies, but nothing more.
