Hey all, I am sure someone has asked this before, but do I submit the pictures by attaching the files to the e-mail or just posting the link to the site?

Submission Rules & Procedure
3. All entries must be made via email attachment. Do not submit links to cels or galleries, for they will not be accepted.

OK, so far, so good. Here are the categories that have not met the minimum requirement of three entries.

Mecha/Robot
Hanken
Non Anime

If you have any cels that fit those categories, send them in. Most need just one more entry to meet the rules.

Ok, sent 3 submissions and later on one more to try to give the minimum number of entries to the "Joy" category......

Oh well, this time i'm being too monothematic in my picks..... For some reason most of my cels fit only in the same 1-2 categories :P

Woo-Hoo! Just submitted mine! Took me long enough to figure it out. I am definitely getting old and withered. I blame it all on school. Thanks for your patience Brian! LOL! :)

I have a couple questions. About the rules, I think last year all of the participants were kept secret before the contest and no one knew who had entered the contest and what they submitted. Now, this thread, containing a list of participants, along with several people making comments about what they submitted (albeit fairly unspecific) sounds like a conflict of interest to me. Couldn't this information help/hurt participants when it comes time to vote? It just seemed more secretive last year and for a reason.

Also, the items submitted should be hidden in the cel owner's respective gallery, no? This was also requested last year, so no one knew who owned what submission by simply visiting a gallery and finding the cel's owner.

Does that make sense? Are we not doing these things this time around? I can respect the decision to not abide by these guidelines but I think they're suggestions worth considering for this year's event as well. It would help keep things objective and fair.

I'm taking it upon myself to hide my submissions regardless.

1. I do agree that it would be best not to post the actual cels you are submitting, but we did have posts about categories last year. Not a big deal to me. I posted the entrants because I wanted to avoid the inevitable flood of "did ya get?" emails. Plus, I use that list later to let folks know that I got their vote. Remember, all members that entered cels MUST vote or be disqualified. We all know who the members of Beta are, so listing some names won't sway people one way or another.

2. As for hiding the cels in galleries, I sure as hell didn't do that. And I don't seem to remember a rule about that last year. I see no reason to add that rule this year.

Thank you for your questions.

I also want to say that I have not had anyone send in an offer to make a new Beta award. If you'll recall, I am looking for an award that incorporates magic or a magician into the image. Please let me know if you would like to flex your imaging muscle and help out. You will be credited accordingly.

Sure, makes sense about the names. Just curious.

As for hiding the cels -- what?! Really?! I could've sworn! 8O Maybe not an official written rule, I just seem to remember it being mentioned...

geez, I'm senile. X|

Thanks for the prompt retort.

I don't know of anyone last year that hid the cels they entered. Also, I see to remember that quite a few cels last year were watermarked, which is a dead giveaway of who the owner is. Many of us that have unique cels/sketches will be easily recognized - there is no hiding if people know you own an A1 End, or something like that. :D

Poor poor pitiful me... on the road for a week with no time to rescan cels beforehand *sniffle*

Um, so my question is whether any categories are already filled, so that I don't wast time on them...

I didn't see it in any previous postings but you know, these eyes of mine aren't as young as they used to be :)

So far Blueheaven has listed 40 Beta members that have submitted up to 5 entries each. With 20 catagorys and the diverse collections each had I would doubt that any one catagory is close to reaching the max of 25. At last post , Mecha/robot , Hanken & Non Anime had not at least recieved the required 3 entries to be judged.
