I'm happy to see that lots of people have entered cels in the Funniest category. Usually that section gets no love. :D

Blueheaven, I know this is a little early, but could you please clarify the voting procedure?
Beta Awards site wrote:Use the Anime Beta Private Message system to send in your votes. Votes must be sent to user blueheaven.

. . . .

Send your votes in using the "Send Feedback" link at the top of the page.

Which one is it? Or can we do either or?

Whoops. My mistake. Use the Beta Private Message System to send in your vote. Rules have been changed accordingly.

OK, update time...

Masculine - 23
Couple - 22
Sadness - 21
Feminine - 20
Funniest - 19

OK, congratulations are in order. ALL CATEGORIES HAVE MET THEIR MINIMUM REQUIREMENT OF THREE ENTRIES!!! :dban

This means that members will be able to vote in all categories this year. I want to thank the Beta members who posted suggestions about categories this year. We put our heads together and came up with a winner.

Now, let's see if we can fill these categories up! We need cels in the Hanken, Non Anime, Mecha, and Hentai categories!

We hve also had over fifty members send in entries this year, which has to come close to a record for these awards. Keep up the good work everyone!

Also, still no offers to make a new Beta Award. I am no great image maker, but if no one steps up, then I'll throw something together.

Could we keep the same awards as last year? This will give some consistency to the Beta Awards, especially since we hold them annually.

My hard drive died a few weeks ago, so the blank templates are no longer
available...only the finished products. This would make it difficult to make
new images without investing the time in recreating the template.

I'm going to ask that folks make one email only from this point on. I've had people send in two or three emails to fill their five cel maximum. Think about it carefully, then send in your submission.
Oops - my bad! With so many guidelines to follow, I knew that I was bound to screw up somewhere with submissions.

*hits forehead with palm of hand*

But I'm done with my submissions - can't wait to vote!

I see your point. I think, for the future, we will end up keeping the same categories. However, I like the idea of folks getting a new award every year. Plus, it means that the person who made the awards won't have to do the job every year, someone else can take over the reins.

I have one little question ... why is the max this year 25 entries too ... wouldn't 24 be better because on RS galleries you can show at max 24 thumbnails on one view???

only a thought ...

Maybe he can scatter the cels onto a few pages? Or lower the entry number... :hurt:

I was actually replying to Zetsuai as you posted, so my post ended up after yours instead of before it. I wasn't asking you to do that, I think it's clear that I was suggesting that having less entries would be a negative thing, hence the :hurt:

Lowering the number of entries after the submission process has started doesn't seem fair. And please don't make it look like my simple comment had some influence on your decision. Keep it at 25 and just scatter the cels on a couple of pages, it's not that big of a deal. Or hey, better yet, increase the entry number to 30! :D
