Nope. Not Read or Die either.

Recap of hints so far:

In this juicy anime, fairy tale characters fight against each other in a battle of
good and evil with the fate of the worlds of both magic and science at stake.

The trio of heroines must protect a young boy who is the key to this
struggle from the evil forces sent by a pair of siblings under the control of
a character you normally wouldn't expect to be on the evil side.

New hint:
The name of one of these colorful heroines appears in the title of the show.

Guys, the characters in this one are quite literally fairy tale characters. The bad guys include Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel.

Well, no luck with this one.

The answer is Otogi-Jushi Akazukin or Fairy Musketeer Akazukin.

Since no one got it, I'll designate JWR as the next in line to give a clue as I
felt his guesses were the closest.

Oh crap! Now I have to come up with another one.

This series focuses on four unlikely roommates and their misadventures. For
example, in the first week, one is shot, another is burnt to ashes, a third is
infected and the last exposes herself in public.

The first 3 sound like Kenny on South Park. Sadly no anime guess however.
