Like most people, I'd rescan if the original picture was crappy-looking. There are a couple of series in my gallery that are mostly photos so I'd like to replace those with scans. Not exactly 're-scanning' but redoing.

I've rescanned a couple of cels after I obtained a background for them or sequence mates with which to make an ani-gif. But on the whole, I try to do a good job at reproducing the image digitally in the first place to avoid returning to that dreaded scanner!

I did a big rescan this past summer sometime because we got a better scanner, and I had enough backgrounds to put something behind each cel finally. (Thanks Tex-chan for a few! )

Now, my scanner is still in transit from Kwajalein, so everything is getting photographed with the digital camera, and I'll be scanning those in sometime after the scanner gets in. Finally.

I find scanning to be both a pain and a joy. The pain is obvious: it is a ton of work! But the joy of seeing the colors pop and look almost as good as it does in person, is usually worth it for me. ^_^
And so far, I'm just putting up with the line that shows up every now and then in the scans from the new scanner. <.< ('cause I don't know how to get rid of it)
