Oh yeah, and Krafty came up with a beauty of a trophy. Going with the theme of Magic(to honor Magician's hard work), he has come up a with a great award. I'll show it on the site as soon as it's finished.cutiebunny wrote:
BTW..have we decided on an official trophy image yet? My vote's for the Cloud icon.
Thanks for your comments, sensei. I appreciate that.

OK, voting is in full swing. All of the entrants who voted have been counted on the first page of this thread. If you don't see your name in bold, PM me and I'll take a look for your vote. Some of those lil buggers get sent to the Bulk mail folder by accident.
I also want to thank the members who voted even though they did not send in an entry. I appreciate you taking the time to vote, and so do your fellow Betarians.

So many new artworks I hadn't seen before- that is cool. As most people have encountered, it really was tricky voting for just one piece in each section- a couple that I chose actually surprised me because they may not have been to my taste but satisfied my judging criteria.
The form of the Trophies is complete and Blueheaven has just been handed them for perusal. I hope they're found to be suitable as they're not particularly anime-like

Beep beep, make way for the newbmobile. *shot for lame entrance*
This is actually my first post at this forum. Someone said in my RS journal that Beta had been up for.... .. 4 years or so? And even though I've been collecting cels for about a year and a half, I only actually realized that "Anime Beta" was a forum just a few months ago (I'd figured it was some partner site or other), and joined in time to be in the competition by the skin of my teeth. o_o So, hi.
Iiiiin any case, I'm glad I did, because the process of the awards has been interesting and exciting. After seeing the other entries, I don't really expect to win anything, but it's still been great to be involved. I've already submitted my votes, but deciding was excrutiating; like some other people have said, I'd usually get down to two that I just couldn't choose between.
Welp, anymoose, I wish everyone luck, and hopefully will get to know people around here a bit. >.> Big communities kinda intimidate me, so sorry in advance if I lurk.
May the best arts win!

Ditto to the above statement. Always glad to see new folks(yet familiar folks) turn up here.
Well, the awards are now on display on the website. I want to thank James for the great job he did. I love the magical theme of the awards. Please take time to have a look and thank Krafty for the awesome job he did.

Those graphics look really awesome!
Very nice James!
I have a couple of questions....
Will the winning cel be incorporated into that art (like last year's trophy) or is it meant to be on display in the gallery as it is?
Is the 2nd place award supposed to be bronze colored? Aren't second place medals supposed to be silver?
Sorry, just wondering. Again, awesome looking designs James!
Thanks so much for making them.

The awards will simply be for display in the winners' galleries. Each one will have the name of the category on it. They are also transparent GIf files, so you can attach them to the cel image.wELCOME cONSUMER wrote:Those graphics look really awesome!Very nice James!

You are right in thinking that second place awards are silver. But in truth, since there is no third place(and this is really more of a runner-up award to tell the truth) I think bronze is fine. If you look at last year's awards, the awards were silver and bronze.
